Glass half full or half empty

Glass half full or half empty

Postby cyprus-shrimp » Tue Nov 16, 2010 4:28 pm

Whilst nobody can claim that we are having a good season at the moment, it is interesting to see the widely differing views and opinions here on SV. We are all looking at the same situation, but some see the glass as half full whilst others see it as half empty. Nothing wrong with that either; in fact it would be strange if that were not the case. However consider the 2 following statements, both of which are true!

1. If we lose again at Cheltenham on Saturday we could be in the bottom two.
2. If we had won against Lincoln last Saturday, then another win at Cheltenham could see us only 1 point off a play off spot.

I think that shows how close L2 is this year, and the important point has to be that if the management and the players can get themselves sorted out and turn things round, there is still an excellent chance of a good season. If not, then the "half-empty" brigade will be happy I guess!!!

Not wanting to be a pedant...

No we couldn't be. Barnet will be below us no matter what and Hereford play Lincoln, so at least one of those two would still be below us 8-)

But apart from that, I agree with your main point. I'm a glass half full type. Still a long way from panic in my opinion.

So how did that work out then?

I think we will stay up, but in the bottom half, is that half full or half empty of me :?:

Most of the time my glass is half full, but on Saturday it felt like the fizz had gone out of it and I needed a fresh drink.
