just be carefull

Emma and Davyd had bought discounted single tickets for £6 each on a website. They were heading back to Southampton after a theatre trip and hotel stay in London as a 25th birthday treat for Davyd.

But the pair decided to visit friends for lunch and hopped off two stops early at Eastleigh, Hampshire.

However, when they handed over their tickets they were told they had breached railway rules and should have stayed on the train until their destination.

They were then fined TWICE the standard fare of £28.50 each - a whopping £57 each.

Get a train ticket from Lancaster/Morecambe to London Liverpool Street and get yourself a train pass there do one i got 16-24.
And prebook the journey it usually would cost £75 but prebook it a day of two in hand with the Train 16-24 train bus of course there do others deals with different age groups.

I got mine for £31.25 to London tomorrow and then another £8.00 to get to Colchester it is a bargain £31.25 with the pass

Me and Doris have got an early morning flight from Gatwick on 3 November.
We're staying the previous night at an hotel in Crawley.
Getting the train from Pompey.
Crawley train station is 2 stops closer to Pompey than Gatwick Airport.
Promotion fare from Pompey to Gatwick is £3.75 each.
Fare (no promotion) from Pompey to Crawley is £20.50 each!
Bought tickets to Gatwick online, but will obviously get off the train at Crawley.
Problem is that you have to go through automated ticket barriers to exit the station.
So there's a pretty good chance that we'd get knobbled for getting off the train before our destination, and risk getting a fine.
Solution is to buy a couple of singles online between Gatwick and Crawley, and put those tickets through the automatic barrier.

It's an insurance against falling foul of the rules.
Still gives us a saving of £28.80, which will be well spent on a 'crawl' through Crawley 8-)
