Go on, then - team for Saturday?

I'd like to see Rundle (but I like Brown's workrate). I'd also like to see Fleming back in the frame, as well as Wilson.

On balance, then, I'd probably go...

Roche,

Scott, Bentley, Parrish, Wilson

Duffy, Stanley, Drummond, Brown,

Fleming

Mullin.

Fleming sitting in behind Mullin but in a forward position.

I think putting Rundle in as a straight swap for Brown would leave us a bit flimsy in midfield.

If you were to bring Rundle in and still keep Brown for his battling qualities, then you'd have to leave out Drummy or Stanners. Interesting dilemma.

Having said that I think, if Jevo's fit, the only change Sammy's likely to make is Wilson for Capaldi.

you could only play both Rundle and Brown if the system was 4 5 1

Stanners and Drummond just have to play. I am worried about right back so may switch Scott and Parrish with Parrish at right back and Scott at Centre back.

Roche

Parrish Bentley Scott Wilson

Duffy Stanley Drummond Brown Rundle

Spencer

Put Drummy in the back 4 and bring Fleming into midfield with Stanners providing the creative link. That would mean Paz at right back.

Said many times on here and at the games, but Drummy and Stanners together in midfield judt doesn't work out.

Personally i don't think we need another defender .... all it will do is change and unsettle the defence again and to be honest highlights panic in sammy's mind.

I would play 4-4-2 saturday again.

Roche
Parrish (RB) think he has been really consistent this year but would have him at right back because scotty is not a full back

Bentley

Scott

Wilson defends well and gives us more attacking options

duffy

Drummond

Hunter
(that was the midfield partnership at Southend i think)

Rundle looked good last night and helps wilson out at the back

Mullin

jevons (if fit) Hendrie (play him otherwise why sign him??)

subs Brown (Hunter after an hour) Spencer, stanley, capaldi, Walker flemming loan striker (wayne from fleetwood would be nice)

I think we are all argeed that Capaldi should be dropped like a stone then? 4 month deal, press snippets read as though he is doing us a favour until a bigger and better deal comes forward? I'm sorry, but this guy is awful. He has no pace, can't tackle, keeps losing the ball and is generally woeful long-thow aside. We are very much doing him a favour, whilst shunning the long-term and all round better prospect of Wilson by keeping him on the bench. Wilson must play if fit. I'd go:

----------------Roche----------------

Hunter----Bentley---Parrish------Wilson

Duffy---Stanley---Drummond----Rundle

----------Mullin------Jevons-----------

----------------Roche----------------

Hunter----Bentley---Parrish------Wilson

Duffy---Stanley---Drummond----Rundle

--------------Fleming-----------------

---------------Jevons-----------------

Give Fleming a free role knowing Stanley and Drummond are there to cover. Rather than be predictable, give the home team something to think about. If we're playing well, take off Drummond (to rest) and bring on either Mullin (target man) or Spencer (pace/movement) and go for it. If we're under pressure, switch to 4-5-1 and get the ball wide to (dare I say ) an in-form Duffy or rundle (who looked good last night).

Easy 3 points!

A team of work horses against these would be my idea, get hunter in and the like and completely suffocate them. Not like their confidence is high either and continuous pressure all over the pitch would ruin them in my opinion.
Get over it ;)

Let's have a go then:

---------------------Roche---------------------

Parrish-------Bentley-------Scott---------Wilson

Duffy-------Drummond-----Stanley--------Rundle

--------------------Fleming--------------------

--------------------Spencer-------------------

I know Spencer's young, but he has more pace than Mullin or Jevons, and if you're playing 1 up he needs that; Fleming has already proved he can find the goal; Drummond and Stanley are both playing well at the moment, and Duffy is a regular man-of-the-match contender, although for me beaten by Bazza last night, in spite of Bury scoring 4. When they're fit I'd put Haining and McCready straight back in there, and give the armband to Will - get an outfield player with some fire taking control.

There's the target - shoot me down.

Looks good to me, but I'd swap Drummy and Scott around. It would give us a bit of extra bite in midfield especially if Scotty was just in front of the back 4 giving some protection.

Certainly like the idea of Spencer up front, supported by a young and keen Fleming. Both got a lot to prove for their futures in the game. Could be the making of them.

Hunter................Bentley...............Parrish................Wilson

Duffy..................Stanley...............Fleming...............Brown

......................................Drummond.................................

......................................Mullin......................................

Fleming in the centre of midfield to give a bit of much needed tenacity and pace to break forward when the opportunity allows and Drummond behind Mullin purely because of the type of game we are playing at the moment, with Duffy creating most of the chances with balls crossed into the box.

2-3-5
Nos 8 and 10, the playmakers, up-and-down the park, just like they used to do.
Throw-ns by Nos 4 and 6 always went down the line.
Nos 7 and 11 whipped the opposition fullbacks for pace, and got in stonking crosses for Nos 8, 9 and 10.
Simple.

You'd drop Duffy, arguably our most influencial player in recent games?
