Globe Fitness Centre

Postby Christies Child » Sat Sep 18, 2010 7:02 pm

The club are soon to open the Fitness Centre in the Community Block to the public for a small monthly fee. However they are also providing free on-site car parking including on a match day. Seems a bit unfair to those of us who have to paid a yearly fee for the opportunity to park on-site during match days. :?: :?: :?:

Maybe you get free entry to the gym CC , anyway think yourself lucky to have a parking place ,i have been trying since i found out they were up for grabs. would have been happy to pay for a parking place as i travel about 40 miles to a home game and have to grab what street parking is available.

the proposed players gym in the main stand is full of beer bottles as the planners forgot to build a cellar for bottles and barrels etc

Do we actually know when the community block will be open?

Looking forward to playing 5 a side down there but it seems to have gone very quiet about when it's opens, how you book/join up etc

Now I have finished my running career was looking forward to using the facilities.

It is already open, I had a 5-a-side game on the new astroturf last week.

I sent a polite email about the gym and got a quick response from some guy called Michael Stringfellow. (Not sure how long he has been back with us but its good to see in my opinion).

Anyway my mains points where: No discount on Peak or Off Peak single membership if bought annually.

No mention of single user prices or if its even available. (This was my main point as I don't live in the area but do have family. Its £10 to use DW and VVV and salt Ayre is not only too far but isn't my bag)

Anyway Mr Stringfellow replied and attached a new Membership PDF. (its not possible to attach on here but I have no doubt it will be online soon)

revised prices for anyone interested are:

Full peak:- Month(M): £25 Annually (A) £250 (previously 300 so you will now save £50)
Peak Couple:- M:£45 A:450 (Previously £500, which was then a saving of £40 but now is a saving of £90)
Off Peak:- M: 20 A:200 (previously £240, a saving of £40)
off Peak couple:- M: 35 A:350 (Previously 380 a saving of £40 now a saving of £70)

I was also informed that they will now be allowing one day pass for £6 (which I think is pretty reasonable for a new gym and i would prefer to give my money to the club)

Now, Because I was bored I also took the liberty of finding out the prices at VVV and DW fitness and in brackets included the price difference:

VVV:
Individual:- Corporate: £34 (+£9) Full: £38(+£13) Off Peak: £28(+£8)
Joint:- Corporate: £64(+£19) Full: 68(+£23) Off Peak: £53 (+£18)
I couldn't see any annual offers online.

DW:
Individual:- Monthly £37 (+£12) Annually £444 (+£194)
Student:- Monthly £27 (+£2) Annually £324 (+£75)
No joint available online.

So as you can see some quite big saving to be made. There obviously I'snt a pool which both VVV and DW have but its still quite an impressive saving no the less.
