If we get anything out of this game it will be a tremendous result. you take each game on its own merits, so would take a point right now thanks.

DawZi, thats a strong looking back 4 but it all depends what the manager decides to do with the midfield, in my opinion Stanners has got to play

I am saying 4-5-1 with Shucker behind Mullin or Jevons could be wrong could play another player in this role.

I will go

Roche

Hunter Mccredie Haining Parrish

Brown Drummond Stanley Duffy

Shucker

Jevons

I am going Morecambe 0-0 or a 1-0 win

I did not really like the solid style of Shucker vs Chestefield and lost the ball very quickly.

I do think Stanley will be in taking Fleming spot or maybe Fleming could play behind jevons / mullin :?:

Do hope I am wrong but fancy us 4.0,now before I need my flak jacket I will explain why.

Sturrock has a problem with his front line, and after the performance on Saturday against Northampton he has laid into the players and according to rumours and I state rumours some of the players are unhappy with his hairdryer treatment
Now this can go two ways, but as most of players are IMHO last chance saloon players this maybe the thing they need to fire up their game and its just unfortunate you are the next team

Probably totally wrong as allways, but do think we will go at you from the first blow of the whistle, my concern is Jevons allways liked him and just wish he was in our side

I think we'll struggle in this one to be honest.

2-0 Shrimpers.

Best wishes to any Shrimps that make the trip.

I think both managers have been blowing their hairdryers recently! No doubt that means it will be a 0.0 or a 3.3

Good job you are around this week as most of our posters are on gardening leave!

1-0 Morecambe win.
If we are as solid as we were last week, i cant see any problems.
They've won 2 drawn 1 and lost 1, so it could be quite an interesting game.
Id settle for a draw, but 1-0 sounds reasonable.

Agree mate think Morecambe start is slow but remember away from home we should of got at least a draw vs Wycombe remember that horror tackle on Drummond should of been a red card.

And leading Burton 2-1 and yet again going defensive so I am going Morecambe 1-0 or 0-0 please god clean sheet 8-)

I dunno who will score and don't care bring on Saturday

oh how times change, former optimists now being relistic, former realists, who were called doom merchants, strangely quiet, former super optimists spitting out dummies and blaming things on the realists, who they thought were pessimists..... bringing us to the likes of me, a wind up merchant

Re: Southend predictions

Postby Heysham_red » Fri Sep 17, 2010 12:51 pm

I'm not going to make a prediction as such. Instead I'm going to put my thoughts on what the outcome might means.

A win: Any kind of win would be amazing. Everyone will be happy and our season would finally start. :D
A draw: As a fan not going I would prefer a 0-0 draw (if it was to be a draw) to give some kind of confidence to the defence. I know our strikers are lacking confidence too but if Sammy goes with the predicted 1 up front at least whoever it is has that excuse to fall back on. But any draw would be a good point, although having said that, if we do still have our thoughts on promotion away wins will have to come sooner rather than later. :)
a loss (under 3): There is a lot of pressure on the team to get that first win and when you are on a bad run I have no doubt every loss hurts and the pressure mounts. But we have to be realistic, we are on a bad run, to get anything from Southend, when we all know we are terrible away from home and even more terrible when there is a long distance too, would be great. To lose would not be a disaster so long as we put in some effort and at least make a game of it. :|
a loss (3 or over): a loss by 3 goals would be very worrying. especially if we don't score. It will heap a huge amount of pressure on us. Its not nice being where we are and if we lose by 3 I worry that we could be struggling all season. Not to stereotype us fans to much but were not a fickle bunch however a loss by 3 or more will create (more) unrest and some will choose to speak out against sections of the team or the management. I really hope its not this one!!

.. Ok, if I'm to be forced into a corner, I predict a 2-0 win, with the shrimpers losing the second goal due to a late counter from us (it must be our turn to score late).
