O/T Memory stick

Can anyone help with this one? I lost a memory stick a few days ago on a bus; I contacted the bus company and miraculously have been reunited with it. However, I'm just a bit concerned as it contained a lot of personal financial information. I know you can tell when a file has been modified, but is there any way of telling if files have been merely looked at? Thanks.

Yes right click on a document before opening it and go to properties. It tells you when documents have been created, modified, and what you want: 'accessed'

Yes, I thought that if I accessed it, it would say "accessed 12 September 22:00", or whatever; is there a history of the accessing, so it might say, "accessed 9th September, 10th September" etc, or would that be asking too much?

Even if you could prove they looked at the files, they'll say they were checking the content of the files to see if they could identify the owner to return the memory stick. Rather than go for the bus company, put the effort into not losing the stick again

You shouldn't be carrying sensitive information around with you un-encrypted. Treat yourself to an encrypted memory stick or get a decent operating system (W7 Ultimate) and use the built-in bitlocker on all your memory sticks.
