Sorry Just was watching the channel four ten years on program and decided to go on the Morecambe site checking out the attendance and table result.

Just average 1200 fans in that season and you have to think why do you fan say what you say about Morecambe because were a solid League Two team.

And come on bottom after five game it is not like we got a small squad or an low skill manager.

Are a club that keep saying the bosses early on .

Lets get behind Morecambe and cheer Morecambe on for a win against a good Chesterfield team 3rd? place end of season cough cough I still think it will happen ;)

As a Essex man moving back into Morecambe when watching this program on channel 4 last night I was wondering what Morecambe was like ten years ago the team.

I did get told that Christie Park was a bad ground dunno if it was true ten years ago .

I like cp in the north stand

No play-offs then Darren. Dagenham missed out on the only promotion slot by goal difference.

1200 was not too bad a average for a Conference side. Wind back another ten years and you will see our average was about 400!

Christie Park had lots of improvements made during the late 1990s (including building the North Stand) but changed very little until the bulldozers moved in!

Boston - down
Dagenham - up
Yeovil - up
Doncaster - up
Barnet - up
Morecambe - up
Farnborough - down
Margate - down
Telford - down
Nuneaton - down
Scarborough - down
Stevenage - up
Northwich - down
Chester - down
Southport - same
Leigh - down
Hereford - up
Forest Green - same
Woking - down
Hayes - same
Stalybridge - down
Dover - down

Only three teams (Southport, Forest Green, Hayes) still remain in the Conference with seven moving up and 12 going down.

Out of the seven that went up, two of them (Dagenham, Yeovil) are currently playing in League 1 with Doncaster being the most successful reaching the Championship.

There are some horror stories in there as well though (Boston, Telford, Scarborough, Chester)

Southport & Hayes have been down and come back up. Forest Green should have been down except for other teams being expelled (twice?)

And as for Leigh RMI, their fall from the dizzy heights of the Conference has also been spectacular. Pitifully low crowds they attract nowadays as, to be fair, they did in their Conference years when Twissy at one time played for them.

Good to see Andy Heald still in action for them, he has stayed loyal to the club and been there for years now.
