Former England captain David Beckham has put his customised TVR Cerbera on sale on leading auction site eBay, resulting in a tsunami of bids that could see it sell for a price on the right side of £100,000.

At this point in time, the price has reached the £60,000 mark, but with six days to go until the auction closes, we wouldn't bet against Golden Balls' customised TVR selling for an amount that is closer to £150,000, maybe even higher.

Why so? Aside from being built to the "personal specifications" of one of England's most famous footballers (and it’s got a nameplate to prove it), this year 2000 TVR Cerbera has only 100 miles on the clock because it has been residing in a private collection since 2004.

The Cerbera’s performance stats are quite remarkable for a British-made sports car that was produced 10 years ago, with its 4.5 litre V8 drivetrain capable of churning out 420 ponies and 380 lb/ft of torque, leading to a 0-60mph of 3.8 seconds and a top speed that maxes out at 195mph. Be still our beating hearts!

Other highlights include an ice detector, air-conditioning, 18-inch alloy wheels and privacy glass – though, we'd just be happy with those incredible stats.

As an interesting side note – if you're a fan of Land Rover's output, then it may prove of interest that the iconic British marque's new creative design executive, a certain Mrs Victoria Beckham, showed early intentions of wanting to get into the car design sector by picking out the “Crystal Topaz” finish (aka pearlescent blue) for her husband's TVR, and it’s a surprisingly tasteful selection. Perhaps Land Rover’s shock recruitment decision will prove to be savvy one after all…
