To the tune of doing the Lambeth walk

Once you get down Lamberts way,
Any evening, any day
You'll find this man
writing to the Guardian

The club is loud and sleazy
and the don't do peas and gravy
Why are the lights always on there?
and they sometimes swear

classic NIMBY'ism. I have some sympathy for people who live somewhere before a development like The Globe comes along but he must surely know the 'campaign' against The Globe has been lost now.

While some of JL's comments are quite amusing (for 18 years I lived next door to CP and it didn't affect me  ), I have sympathy for anyone around the ground. I know what it's like to hear the drums, out of tune/sync at the best of times, echo around a ground and be heard across the road. No one lives as close to the new ground as the residents of Lancaster Road did, most if not all of whom moved there with the ground already in place. The residents around the Globe have had it forced on them, they were there first if you want to look at it bluntly. There can only be a minority opposing the ground otherwise planning permission would have been impossible but just pause for a moment before you start your JL chant. He's had the ground forced on him, he didn't want it and still doesn't. You need people like JL on your side, not piss them off even more. What if the club decided to hold concerts to raise more money for a better team, you're giving JL even more reason to object to anything the club want to do.

Please stop giving JL the attention he does not deserve. I used to work with him years ago and I know he will be loving the attention we are giving him. He was a constant moaner and objected about everything. So please don't give him any ammo to fire

There's a nice letter in the Visitor from a resident which says that a man parking his car for the Rotherham game knocked on the person's door, and asked if it was okay to park his car outside the house as he was going to the match. Naturally, the resident thought this showed good manners, and was well pleased.

And some living on Burlington always said park outside our house and in fact are saying how they miss the hustle and bustle and NOISE on match days. Me would rather have the footy noise every other Saturday and the odd mid week game than listen to school children screaming around four times a day term time, don't get me wrong have four of my own and eleven grandchildren and love em to bits

The way he goes on about it in the article you would think the ground was right outside his front door! The plans to move to Westgate were announced in 2007 so if he was so concerned about it he could have moved.

If I gave you 3 years notice that I was going to rebuild the chicken factory next door to you, would you move?

As for noise, the globe noise can be clearly heard on christie avenue.

I have lived on Needham Ave for over 20 years and it was a better place to live before the Globe Arena was built. Me and the other half go to most home games so are not really affected on match days but not everyone is like us. I don't know what it will be like when the training pitches are in use, we'll have to wait and see. Still it could have been worse, they could have built a scumbag housing estate with some of the idiots that comment on Shrimpsvoices living there.
