They don't do chips or peas anymore, why is that?

"Chips and peas please."
"We don't do chips or peas."
"You what?"
"We don't do chips or peas."
"Do you do curry sauce?"
No,we don't do curry sauce."
"Do you do gravy?"
No,we don't do gravy."
"We do pies, though, on their own."
You do pies on their own, with nothing ELSE!"
"Yes, we do pies on their own."
"Have you got nowt that's moist??"

Its pretty poor IMO

You'd think the catering facilities behind the stand would be kitted out the right equipment for these. I know this is very nitty picky but come on!
Nothing wrong with putting in a bain-marie so can have gravy or peas with us' pies!
Also a deep fat fryer!!

I have actually had a conversation about this subject, this week, whilst delivering to the kitchens.
Allegedly, H&S will not allow any more "equipment" into the kiosk areas.

I told him to pull his finger out, get it sorted and get some decent pies in because the one I tried at the Rotherham game was so bad, I doubt I'd have fed it to my dog. He got both barrels.

Give him time gentlemen, he like everyone else is getting used to a new set-up.
Trust me when I say he is extremely busy, there are allot of functions on.

I do think though that if there was a petition to the club about this subject, it could speed things up a bit.
Comes across as a nice bloke.
Told me not to tell you that his name is ******,

The Pies are still supplied by Russell at Potts, so no fear, we still have the best pies around.

As for Gravy, Pea's, Curry sauce, Chips etc.. a luxury we'll have to forgo for the new stadium?

Well they must have dipped out for the Rotherham game, because no way were they Potts. If they were then someone needs explaining to about how to keep them warm without ruining them. I got mine before kick off too.

Well they are Potts and they are heated in the same way as they were at Christie Park.

I stand corrected in that case.
I didn't realise they had ovens in MBW stand as they did in the Main stand Christie.

Hang on..... if they've got an oven in the MBW why can't they do peas? I thought the problem was with the licence being for keeping warm, not cooking :? :? :?

Not bothered about the curry, curry and pie don't mix anyway. Just peas and gravy, it's a simple and rewarding request.

However, I've decided that I'm not buying a pie until they sort us out some gravy at the very least; any pie is too dry without meat juice. I'm up for shrimpers idea of tactically passing hip flasks of gravy around the back of the stand if this facility is not introduced pronto.

The fact that the shambolic catering arrangements at the back of the MBW stand dictates that it is nigh on impossible to get served anything without missing the entire game anyway is mostly irrelevant.

Yes - we definitely need gravy as a minimum. Ideally peas as well. I always used to have pie, chips and gravy at CP. I haven't had any food at the Globe so far due to the lack of GRAVY.

We need to put some pressure on the club to sort this out.

Do they have a "comments/suggestions box" or feedback questionnaire for the Globe? As we all start to settle in it woule be a good time for the Club to get some feedback from Shrimps fans on remaining niggles/issues at the Globe. It's a fantatic stadium - it could be perfect with a few tweaks here and there..........

....like GRAVY to go with the pies :D :D :D

They don't have ovens in the MBW stand. It's exactly the same procedure as at Christie Park... The pies are cooked in the kitchen and then put in a heated unit to keep warm.

I can't answer on why the club can't provide peas/gravy/curry etc but, I can say why not be a little more patient and see what happens in the near future. The club are more than aware of what the fans want and trust me when i say there are people who work around the clock trying to provide the best possible service and product to cater for all the fans.

The greatest sadness I've felt at Christie Park was not Twissy's departure - sad as it was without a deserved goodbye; not our defeat to Dagnum in the playoffs but the segregation of the ground that stopped me getting "The Works" - pie, peas, chips and gravy. OK I could still get it all bar the chips but it wasn't quite the same. Worth skipping lunch and breakfast for. Hence why I've got the menu from the Paddock Hatch with Pie All In on the wall of my kitchen.

The situation now is a denial of the working class supporters right to an affordable mid-match / pre/match meal. While bourgouise in the Main Stand gorge on fine cuisine we're denied even our basic civil right to a commodity as plentiful as gravy. Revolution it's the only answer comrades. Let them eat pie! Well give us some gravy!

Didn't stop you & Freez grabbing a fist full of prawn sandwiches at half time as you raced away from the Morecambe Player duties last night! 8-)

Champagne socialism is alive and well!!!

We need solutions, not why can't you wait drivel. Has anybody got a big tub of bisto? I have a camping stove. We could get Christies child to bring some bottled water and Mr. Patatohead to bring his big wooden spoon. Not ideal I know, but a start.

Perhaps we could make a clear indication at the shabby way in which the gravy lovers have been treated. £12 million stadium and we can't even have gravy on our pies? This club is going backwards I tell you. Have you still got some leftover cash from the Burton banner? We could get a "we want our gravy back" one done, and wave it in the direction of those gravy fascists in the c-hampagne section.

What happened to the " Campain for real gravy" banner gone fron the Fenwick arms at claughton , would have fit nicely on the side of the supporters open top bus. ;)

It's a big ask on a family budget to buy more than one over priced hot dog twice a week... let alone once! I reckon the first burger van to spring up in the area with the smell of onions drifting through the air will make a fortune.

Eeee... no burgers, no gravy, no curry or chips... I don't know...
