He sits back on narrow leads all the time.

I am so much more optimistic this season, despite this formation, but we need to prepare for non league again

Sitting back on a one goal lead rarely works for us. Our traditional crap start is beginning to take shape. It's surely not rocket science that once we're behind and chasing the league, we change style and start wining so why not chase points in August instead of January?

It's quite conceivable we won't pick up a win until we play Barnet, looking at the next few fixtures.

James Spencer

Lillis told the Morecambe Visitor: "Jimmy is a big lad who has come highly recommended to us. He is strong for his age but holds the ball up really well and has an eye for goal.

“He will be a good addition to the squad and will hopefully continue his development as a player with us

“The Huddersfield link has worked well for us so far and it's good to know that a club like them have the confidence to loan their players to us.

“They know we will work on developing their futures, and we are looking forward to getting in some match practice now."

and standing at 6.2ft he sounds like he as some good attributes to be succefull in playing the lone striker role in this 4 5 1

Hi all,

This is my first reply on shrimps voices but have followed morecambe for the last twenty something years home and away in our non league years and also during our time in the conference. This start is nothing new but we must also be on our guard but i'm pretty sure we will be ok once we get that first win under our belts. :)

We deserved something from the game. The most disappointing aspect was that despite negating our attacking capabilities by playing a lone striker upfront for the majority of the game, we still conceded three sloppy goals. Makes you wonder why we bothered to be honest. It makes sense, in a tight game but we weren't exactly in control at any point. I'd like to see us adapt to the situation more, instead of sticking to a rigid plan.

And that's why Sammy manages a League 2 team. Leeds played the same system to us in the opening 1.5 matches. Simon Grayson saw that it wasn't really working, changed it to 4-4-2 and hey presto...

ok then here's a toughie?

if people do want to see a 4 4 2 who do you drop in Scott Stanley Fleming in the central midfield?

because Shuker & Rundle are doing there jobs well! getting crosses in the box when ive seen em both play?

Personally, I don't want to drop any of our midfielders. I'm happy for us to stick with 4-5-1 for now, but I'm all for trying a different guy up top. Answers to the name of Jamie...

I'm not saying that 4-4-2 is the answer or saying that 4-5-1 is wrong, I just think that going into each game using the same system against teams that play differently, have different players, and have different abilities is something that perhaps could be changed game to game, or even during a match when the initial system is not working? Perhaps Sammy thinks that 4-5-1 has given us the best chance of getting a result against each of the three league opponents we have played so far. I don't know....just trying to create a bit of the discussion around the game.

I wouldn't hold up Leeds United as a model of success to compare against on any level.
