Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

"Everything is ok with Stanley. We brought some players in and had a look at them and Craig Stanley is needed at the club."

That quote says it all for me!

I got one of my collegues who has a dog to get his dog to talk to another dog who knows one of the club officialls who has a dog. Apparently the manager said that he realised that something needed to be done about this after talking it over with somebody called Ned..... :D

That Sammy has at last listened to him?

We'd be top of the league if only Sammy had come to his senses sooner. What a plonker.

Best news i've heard on here for ages! :) Stanleys input is something that's been missing and we'll look a far better side now.
Twissy possibly to accy is another story :( we can't beat them as it is! what chance if he's playing for em  bad move for the club IMO

Common sense has prevailed - at last.

Let's not expect everything to instantly come good again.

That'd just be piling the pressure on one player, it is a team game afterall.

Left winger to come too, one who I believe is out of contract at the moment so if it doesn't happen tonight don't panic. :!:

What a roundabout way of saying "my signings have proved unsuccessful". I still can't believe I'm saying this, but it is about time. Looks like Saturday was the final straw for Sammy. I hope we can get this winger in this evening!

all credit to Sammy for admiting that things weren't right.

McIlroy said: "Craig Stanley won't be going anywhere. He is staying with us.

"Everything is ok with Stanley. We brought some players in and had a look at them and Craig Stanley is needed at the club."

McIlroy has fielded a number of combinations in centre midfield and Stanley is likely to feature when he recovers fully from his foot injury.

Absolutely incredibly extraordinary! I'm stunned by that comment.

Could it be read as follows. "We brought some players in and gave them a decent wage and contracts for the next couple of years. We've had a look at them - perhaps not as closely as we should have at their old clubs and in pre-season - but they're not as good as a bloke who I wanted out of the club for calling me everything under the sun and who I've said doesn't contribute enough to our attacking play or score enough goals. Craig Stanley is needed at the club because I've no other options and have had to eat the ol' humble pie."

Of course not...

Still.

1. Stanners puts himself about.
2. He'll want to prove himself again
3. It shuts up Negative Ned
4. Sammy proves he can see sense
5. Prince Charles's fruit bats back

I think having Stanley and Drummond in the centre strengthens the side no end. With the hard working Wainwright on the right, and a new left winger, who I'd hope would also help Adams out, hopefully we can stop shipping these ridiculous goals.

Well done Sammy AND Stanley for burying the hatchet. Let's hope the air is clear and we don't see the likes of it again.

As for the previous quote, I take it to read that the trial players he didn't sign (with the exception possibly of Wiles) weren't good enough and weren't better than what he have on contract.

To me, it reads as if he is referring to the numerous trial players we've had.

Not time for retribution I agree , but it is concerning though that these 'clearing the air' talks have happened twice in a relatively short space of time. The absence of a player of Stanley's quality could be costing us points ?

I mean was he injured or kind of 'sin binned' ? Its not like we are a club who can leave out quality players for 3 or 4 games especially League games. Whoever or whatever the cause of the last 'falling out event' - its be hope its been cleared up for the forseeable future. This is not meant to be a criticism of the player or the manager but it must be disruptive for the team - it must create an atmosphere ; like it would in any workplace.

Nah. If that was the case the hatchet would've been buried before the season started. The fact it has happened after a poor start to the season in which our midfield has failed (mostly comprising new players) isn't a coincidence. Still, at least it's only taken 4 games for which everyone is grateful (I suspect).

Amen to that. Thanks to both Stanners and Sammy for patching things up. Your ability to act in the best interest of the club through what was probably an awkward time for both just shows us that this club and the people at it are big enough to put the past behind them and get on with it. The season starts on Saturday.

p.s.
