I dare you to pick a starting 11!

For me the squad we have now is in theory the best MFC had ever had. I have never seen the fans (above) be able to pick so many starting 11's that all make sense.

In previous seasons the management have had fair excuses to say they have been working with 'conference' standard players and not enough quality. I now feel that the Club has upped a gear and given the management the tools to bring success. The skill now is to blend them together in such a way that we can stake a claim to be a major force in L2.

Ultimately this is down to Sammy. I wish him all the success and am behind him all the way.
As fans we will disagree about his team selection on a weekly basis. There is no room for sentiment, so who will his favourites be? I'm so looking forward as it all unfolds 8-)

You only need to listen to Sammy's most recent interviews to get a flavour of what he thinks about the players he's brought in. He's specifically used the words 'better quality', even if he was referring to those who have departed. Scott and McCready are certainties I would suggest. Personally, I'd go for the following...

Roche

Parrish Scott McCready Wilson

Shuker/Duffy Fleming Stanley Rundle

Hendrie Jevons

Subs: Walker; Haining; Hunter; Drummond; Duffy/Moss; Spencer; Mullin
Some are dead and some are living. In my life, I've loved them all.

My only bankers for tomorrow are Baz, Larry and Jev. Hendry has a strain so will miss out leaving Mullers in. Andy P should start but can't decide where :? Rundle has done enough to get straight in. Other than that could be anything

How can you leave Wilson out of the whole squad? One of our best players last season and one of our few left footers in our squad. Haining at right back?

So rather than giving the lads that got us in the playoffs, chuck in the newbies, bollocks to the players we never released, and off we go

I think that sammys first game will have mostly existing last season players, the tools on here suggesting wholesale changes from day one are deluded

I don'thtink McCready, Rundle, Scott and Shuker (if and when) will have signed up to sit on the bench. McCready, Scott and Shuker (if we get him) have all played at a higher level, with Rundle being a good left-footed player filling a gap where we had to loan someone last season. To say it's bollocks to chuck in a newbie is ridiculous. It happens at all levels and it's the result of success and progression.

I think Sammy has a tough job on his hands trying to keep everyone happy, but at the end of the day (he said it himself), he wants to try and push on from where we left off last season. If we're seriously going to give promotion a thought, then we need to improve in all areas. It's not going to be easy, and those who have got us here have done a superb job for Morecambe FC, but it doesn't guarantee them a starting place. It also doesn't mean they'll be completely left out, either!

Oh go on then.....

Roche

Moss Parrish McCready Wilson

Shuker Scott Stanley Rundle

Jevons Mullin

A strong bench of - Duffy, Spencer, Walker, Hunter, Haining, Bentley, Drummond

Hendrie probably won't be risked with his slight thigh strain, Wainers also missing.

Pretty sure Parrish will be in central defence. Also think Scott will anchor the midfield. Haining could be out of favour after wanting a move.

It's not easy though!

Told you it wasn't easy....of course - on the bench though. I think Sammy will bring in the less experienced new signings gradually, rather than throwing them straight into the team!

Can't believe it took until page 2 of this thread for someone to spell McCready correctly.

News to me. I know that there was a chance that somebody would come in for him, but for Will actually wanting away himself..... :?: :?: :?:

There does appear to be a leak. I have had three identical texts with the line up above, asking me not to circulate.

Poor show if there is a leak in the camp.
