B.T.W. My optimistic prediction includes 24 wins, 13 draws and 9 losses. If we can hit the ground running, make the Globe a fortress (which one side looks like anyway), turn a few draws into wins and be more solid defensively there is no reason why not

don't like the predictions thing normally, as some people confuse it with expectations, which for me are simple: we are a league club this time next year, anything else on top of that is a brucie bonus. but while we're in the predicting mood here's some more: we beat Coventry City in the league cup ( no matter where we play it), we get as far as the third round of the FA cup and draw a premiership side, and we make the northern final of the JPT. I believe in sammy and the lads, and if it doesn't pan out, I'll still believe.

Wycombe have made the League Two play-offs on three previous occasions.

Under Martin O'Neill in 1994 they finished 4th with 70 points from only 42 games before beating Carlisle United 4-1 on aggregate in the semi-final and clinching promotion with a 4-2 win over Preston North End at Wembley.

The ill-fated 2005/06 season saw John Gorman's Wycombe finish 6th with 71 points from 46 games before losing 2-1 on aggregate to Cheltenham Town in the semi-finals.

Paul Lambert's Wycombe side finished 7th with 78 points in 2008 before again losing their semi-final 2-1 on aggregate, this time at the hands of Stockport County.

With our squad now virtually complete, I now feel able to make a prediction. I genuinely feel we could finish anywhere between 3rd and 16th, such is the competitive nature of this league. However, I personally think we have a better squad than the one we started with this time last year so I'm going for 6th, with 75 points scoring 73 goals.
