O/T Overview

O/T Overview

Postby mrpotatohead » Tue Jul 27, 2010 11:42 pm

This is not a negative overview, new arena looks great, existing squad although not massive is the best we have ever had, new players have good cv s , but as this excellently run board is is viewed by most of our fans, why do we get info, as and when, off the club :?:

To build a diehard fan base you are best keeping the fans in the loop, DO IT, JUST DO IT.

The board do not mind coming on here to tell us that one or two shrimps badges got sold for 3 quid on ebay, so be fan kind and keep us in the loop about good stuff :!:

Think he means it would be nice to get more information from the club. But yeah, I thought Darren Lock had returned then.

I think you've answered the question in your own post.

We do get info as and when it can be given out. If you've got specific concerns you could always write to them, or speak to them, most have full time jobs outside of the club, running their own successful businesses (for which I doubt anyone critisises the amout of information coming from that business).

Out of interest, what information are you wanting to know?

Obviously during the lean period of no competitive football it'd be nice to have frequent updates of what's going on at the club, particularly with regards to the new stadium (are there going to be any new photo's soon by the way?). But being kept in the loop about every little detail would just delay things further, and having any information in terms of potential signings before any contract is signed would be counter productive. I'd rather only hear about potential signings after they've already joined than be kept in the loop from an early stage, only for the player to move elsewhere after the management practically advertise the fact we're interested in players, sparking the interest of other clubs. The club broadcasting the availability and interest of potential signings is never a good idea.

While appreciating the positive feedback (which is unlike most of the feedback that we get! ) I think there is a simple answer...

http://www.morecambefc.com/page/Home/

There are occasionally posts on here that are 'official' but without the club having any control over this forum it isn't surprising that they don't regularly use it. It may be useful sometimes for someone from the club to post on here "important news on official web site" sometimes when the official site is updated but other than that, look at the official site for official news and look at Shrimpsvoices for lies, innuendo, p*** taking, opinion, local & national politics, moaning, wind up, hotel opinion, nonsense and occasionally news!

I think mrpotatohead is the new CC in terms of being a serial topic-starter.

Any idea how many BareDolly, PoultonPrawn, and FarehamShrimp amassed between them before they were summarily binned?
