Looking good but still looks like a lot of work to do and to think we should have been getting the keys this weekend.

Not wanting to start an argument about the delay again but what I didn't understand is in the press release for the delay it said there had been a few "snagging" issues. I always thought snagging problems were what you found after the build had finished and you then call the builders back. I wouldn't call no floodlights, turnstiles, north terrace and dugouts "snagging" issues.

Looks excellent.

A couple of questions:

1 Pic 5 showing the players area. Will it be covered?
2 Pic 7 showing the home end. Any ideas as to what the boarding being placed against the rear wall is?

HOWEVER everybody will be delighted that it looks as though CC will not be at the games this season.

WHY......

'Cause I suspect there's no way that I can get my body through those turnstyles? And I suspect that others of a 'larger frame' may have similar problems.

;)

...thankfully it doesn't rain in Morecambe otherwise the lads would be drenched with no cover :o :o :o

I am one of those who said it will be ok and ready on time, but looking at the new pic's im now unsure if it will be ready for the Coventry game. :? I hope I am wrong but there just looks so much left to do.

Why was it left to an MFC official to break the news about the delayed hand over? Also why hasn't there been any comment from Globe construction? I would have thought that as it is they who have missed the deadline/handover date that they would have made some sort of statement.

It would be a bummer if the club have to change the game with Coventry to there place, this is only speculation now.

Are you absolutely sure of the facts?

Globe have already commented on the delay.

If they have i missed it, and i am sorry

Morecambe Football Club have today announced that the opening of the new Globe Arena has been delayed.

Brian Fagan, the Director who is overseeing the construction process for the Club explained the main contractor has advised that the planned opening date of 24th July will not now be achieved.

This is the only statement/radio interview I have seen/read, where was the GC one made/posted?

I don't think either the club or the construction company want to go about name calling in public, given that they are both important stakeholders in the project. I'd trust the board not to go arranging friendlies and planning opening ceremonies if they thought the ground wouldn't have been ready by a certain date. When you see what is still left to do then clearly there has been a lack of communication at some point, and for some time. The most confusing aspect of the whole debacle is timing.

I seem to recall a comment from a Globe Director in The Visitor.

the stadium constructor has said the planned hand-over date of July 24th is not possible. A new date of Friday August 6th has been announced, meaning that the first game will be for the visit of Coventry City on Tuesday August 10th

got one working day to play with.
