I cant think why really.

It would have been good to have a game just to get some practise, however it might not be such a bad thing that the match with them from over the Lune is off.....as previous games have not been exactly befitting of the term 'friendly' in the past.

We don't have a full squad???

I really do hope that there are people up the clubs sleave that they will bring out and we'll start the season running, would be a mare to start in a new stadium and be looking at a relegation battle after the first half of the season.

We wouldnt be able to field a full team because we are playing Barrow the day before and I assume most of the players will be involved in that.

Then why arrange two friendlies in two days in the first place?

Having a small squad is not a reason - we have 19 players and, from what I've heard, a few on trial. Plenty to provide a bit of rotation.

It was always a little odd to arrange 2 friendlies in 2 days but then I'd always assumed that the Lancaster game was for reserve, youth and trial players. We've now lost 57% of our friendly games, which is going to make it difficult to replace them with behind closed doors games at this late stage.

i would imagine rearranging a local match with Lancaster at short notice shouldn't be a problem

The phrase including "piss up" and "brewery" come to mind, the way we're going at the moment we'll be asking the league if we can start our season in september and catch up later. very frustrating! ( That may be becoming a mantra at the moment)

it's not really the clubs fault, with this domino effect of events

if we can't fullfil the commitment to two away friendlies in two days we shouldn't be arranging them in the first place. that's not a domino effect given that they are two unconnected events ( who knows if they have common sources, so can't be anything to do with dominos)

This exile for starters will be forking out not far short of £200 for a weekend in Wycombe.
I think that's something you locals forget about.
Buy your season ticket, get yer perks at the club shop, watch every game, car share or get a cheap seat in a laugh-a-minute mini bus. Brilliant in't it!
Cost the likes of me and Doris circa £2,000 a season, and that's just cherry-picking about 10 games.
Stop moaning, embrace and enjoy what you've got, hopefully it'll last :o

I suppose it might just be the case that one of these 'behind closed doors' games is taking place close to or on the same day as Lancaster game. We'll be having to fit round other teams now.

I personally think this is quite funny, there is no way that rearranged closed doors games are any good for getting the squad ready, our squad is very little and needs at least six new players anyway, this whole scenario has morecambe stamped right through it like a stick of cheap rock

Hi Darren lock, if i was going for the interview, i would wear a cricket jersey, this would give the interviewer the impression that you dislike football, so you would concentrate on doing your job properly, plus, they would also get the impression that you were posh, did not need the money, so you would work for crap money, good luck darrenlock, have you thought of pm ing fgh shrimp or whatever he is calling himself these days to see if they have any jobs :?:

Anybody notice the kit pictures today. Coincidence all the players in kit. Understand we had a friendly today behind closed doors but not at the Globe.
