Is this a rule that just applies in this country, I wonder?

Saw loads of people drinking alcohol at the world cup, in the grounds.

Also them egg chasing types, they're allowed to drink on the terracing :x

yes, it's a British 'anti-hooligan' thing. Possibly, but not sure, one of the Taylor Report recommendations?
