Globe new pics

Postby Mike W. » Thu Jul 15, 2010 12:11 pm

see the Globe web site for the new pics of what is going on - despite the great dissappointment of the delayed openning (which is only 2 weeks after all) work goes on all over the place and a lot of jobs are almost there. It is clear that some jobs have taken longer than desired because of the use of higher quality materials and standards, which will be a very good thing in the long run.

Looking good and the work continues at pace but with 9 days to go to the original opening date surely an official could see there is no way it would have been ready :?
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

Excellent pictures.

Looking at the picture of the Western stand refreshment bar and the picture of the back of the western stand am I right in thinking that the large enclosed concourse isn't going to be a covered one? :(
The new home stand will accommodate 2234 standing spectators and will have bar and catering outlets in a large enclosed concourse to the rear of the stand.

Impressed. Going to be worth the wait. If the fixtures and fittings are of the quality we are lead to believe then we can have no complaints.

Is Pic 40 where the Press are going to be situated?

Has the problem about where to put Chesh's hut been resolved?

Excellent. Looking forward to the 31st?????????

Well done to all...

many thanks as ever mike. I know we're all disapointed that we wont be there as planned, but it does look magnificent and the important thing is that we dont rush and end up with a bodged job, lets wish the contractors the best of luck hitting the next target and hope we're ready for the coventry game. dare I say it, but if we're not ready then so be it, let them get it right that's the main thing. we saw when the Midland opened to an artifical target that the customer experience wasn't all that was expected and that weakened the overall product. if we cant get it ready in time for the coventry game then I'm sure there are plenty of neighbours who would be more than happy to loan us there place for a bit. Preston, Blackburn, Carlisle and many others have really good relationships with us. if it's good enough for Blackpool, in the premier league, to move home temporarily while they get things right, then it's good enough for us.

Personally I cant wait for the open day. the piccys look great BUT Home and away end look small and cheap, bring back the Christie park north stand, the facilities at the back look uncovered, more beer in the rain! the North area looks smaller and worse than the Carwash. the main stand looks great. But Piccys never tell the whole story. Cant wait until we can view in person.

Take a look at my post above about a canopy. Seems an economical solution.

Possibly these could provide something suitable?
