Balloons On Saturday

Balloons On Saturday

Postby North Stand Shrimp » Tue Aug 26, 2008 11:23 am

I was just replying to a post re: Balloons on Saturday and it disapeared?
Anyway, no balloons from me this Saturday.

1) Can't afford to do it every match. it cost over £25 for the rotherham game
2) They just don't seem to all get blown up and alot are getting burst before the teams even come out.
3) Cleaning up afterwards seems to be a bit of an issue.

I will have a few hundred balloons for the coming saturday against Daggers.

must admit, I would like to see more balloons getting blown up.

would also be nice if more people would get involved and bring balloons, confetti and anything else which will create a good atmosphere.

Anyone wanting balloons come find me in the middle of the north stand, I will have my blue away shirt on and probably there from 2.30 onwards

Yea if you don't tie them and just let them fly, mind you people would complain that it sounds like someone farting - and we all know that's obscene.

Anyone fetching balloons or making a noise should be refused entry or instantly ejected from the ground.

I was up in Cumbria watching Carlisle - Leeds and only got back for the second half.
I've got some more balloons so I'll be bringing them along to next home game.

I have about 3000, I will be taking around 100 because I know I can blow them up and hand them out

I could just hand out un inflated balloons but I dont think anyone blows em up, I think they keep them then put them on ebay and sell them back to me.....

I have to agree with Loyal Supporter on this one, The first match of the season at home we must have given out a couple of thousand balloons! theres not a chance in hell all of them got blown up.

I will be bringing a hundred and getting there early to blow them up myself.

See you there Loyal Supporter!

For those of you who dont know how to tie knots in balloons once you have inflated them

HOW TO -

Tying a balloon knot can be tricky. We've all been there before. You blow up a balloon, start tying a knot and before you know it, it's somehow become attached to your index finger! But there is an easier way to tie a balloon, that won't leave you tied up in knots!

After inflating the balloon you hold it against your body. With your palm facing downwards, take the neck of the balloon between your thumb and your first and second fingers. With your other hand stretch out the neck (fig.1).

Image

Then bring the neck up and around your fingers back to the body of the balloon (fig. 2). At the same time rotate your left hand anti-clockwise so that your palm is facing upwards (fig. 3).

Image Image

Then pass the neck through the center of the loop created between your first and second fingers (fig. 4 and 5).

Image Image

Finally, while pulling the neck through the loop, withdraw your fingers (fig. 6 and 7).

Image Image

Great! You're done. It might seem a little awkward to begin with, but after a few times it will become second nature.

I don't know which of the last 2 is the funniest

Mick, you weren't being fair, they need the instructions. Every time the players come out they get over-excited and let the balloons go
