I recieved a personal e-mail suggesting that it was "my" lack of a contribution to the forum that has closed it down.(this was the second one i recieved)

On a previous occasion i recieved an e-mail to ask if i would contribute"now and again"!

Here i am on Shrimpsvoices writing my first post! Its a funny old game!

God you really are sad all of you aren't you? You complain about a MorecambeTalk thread which I didn't even start, you then complain about me, I get the blame off Keith, then you start another one when the forum closes.

Fuck me you really are barking!

lighten up jack, i realise one or two on here wanted your site to fail, i did not, we seriously do not have the fan base to be spread out, you and your mates should put it down to experience, stay on here for now, and start again when we go up :!:

I'm going to stay on here, it's a good forum. Keith, would you be able to make me an Admin, I want to help improve the site with you?

A good site but you want to improve it

So, Jack, what's wrong with this forum that you would like to improve?

I've a lot of ideas for the site, but until I'm made an Admin I can't implement those ideas. All sites can be improved.

There isn't that many adverts, it's still better than Shrimps Voices anyway.

Well, here's a few of my ideas:

Better smilies
Morecambe FC Information e.g. club history, player profiles etc
Forum logo with no copyright issues
Fresher design

etc.

Better smilies

If you knew what you were doing, you'd be using any smiley in the www without having any admin rights.

Morecambe FC Information e.g. club history, player profiles etc

I don't if you've realised yet but this is just a forum and we have an official site with that information.

Forum logo with no copyright issues

You'd have no copyright issues if you'd asked or having been told of copyright went and used another copyright photo  This forum has a logo, I'll see if I've still got it somewhere, designed by a forum member some years ago.

Fresher design

Like the "difficult to use" site of yours? This is a familiar design, lots of people like it and are used to it. Why change?

Jack - with my comments in BOLD wrote:Well, here's a few of my ideas:

Better smilies - A couple more would be good, like a thumbs up
Morecambe FC Information e.g. club history, player profiles etc - thats on the official site
Forum logo with no copyright issues - Beats me why we need a logo
Fresher design - most like this design, it's simple, clear and easily understandable

etc.

You've got to ask yourself though, why not make a forum more than a forum? One-stop for all Morecambe fans.

Also, my forum was easy to navigate, don't see why it was so hard.

The forum has existed under various URLs but shrimpsvoices.co.uk gave it a proper name and home in 2002. This format has changed little since then, one or two restarts and upgrades to the software but no major changes.

I have to ask why change something that is so popular and hasn't had the need to change since it started?

You've tried to set up another site, as well as forum, and it didn't work. I can name many over the years, my own and Derbyshire Reds (IIRC) among them, which have been and gone. Now the club have an official site maintained by more than one person, it's getting better and there's no need for unofficial sites.

Still though, why not make this site as good as it can possibly be?

Why not set your own up, make it as good as it possibly can be and wait for the crowds to flock in?

Oh, you've already tried that.
