O/T England World Cup thread

I've said I don't think you should ever boo your own players, but this did make me laugh!

Roy Hobbs, an England supporter who spent £5658.23 on his trip to South Africa, said: "If they fail to beat Slovenia I hope there's a camera on hand to catch Wayne Rooney reflecting on how nice it is when your own fans chase you down the street with a credit card bill and a fucking great sword."

Brilliant!!!

Don't get me wrong, I want England to progress but just for peace of mind I have just put £10 on Slovenia to win at 13/2 ! :o and a fiver on the draw at 10/3.

I will be chearing for England as usual but the above will relieve the pain somewhat if the worst happens

I also see that there will be a German referee! :o

Meanwhile Oxo have just brought out a new white cube with a red cross on it ...

Last four. Us v Brazil, Argentina v Italy.

Can anyone find me some odds please.

I was going to post some predictions on here earlier this week so I will now.

The Golden Boot will go to someone who hadn't scored prior to Monday of this week.
Spain will go out on penalties.
Brazil won't win it.
England will top our group but not before more panics tomorrow.
Robert Green will come back in to replace the injured James sometime and will save a crucial penalty.
There won't be an African team left in it after the group stage.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

According to GMTV Defoe is expected to play along side Rooney and Joe Cole will remain on the bench.

I don't like Defoe but we need pace up front. If Joe Cole doesn't start and we don't win then Cappello will receive huge criticism.

A win was vital, but I do agree.

Interestingly how very few of the foreign players who are so called stars in the Premier have impressed in this World Cup.

The Virgin plane has been diverted mid flight back to London!

It was all set up for an England v France Tiddley Winks Championship at the airport prior to both teams departure as well.....

Unlikely, they had an all red away kit in the early/mid 90s.

Good job I didn't put any money on any of these.

Anyway, Peter, I'm not 100% wrong yet - unlike someone I could mention.

Impressed with Japan, especially Honda. I'd rather face Germany than Japan next!

Very, very disappointed.

I expected someone to say 'he's got a good engine on him!'

Harry did his best after the game saying CSKA offered him to Spurs but they wanted Bentley in return.. "and our chairman said he wouldn't swop a Bentley for a Honda".

I didn't mean unlikely as they'd not wear it, my post was made after the match.

It was the Umbro Cup i believe. Didn't see 'competitive match' written anywhere anyway. This and the home strip of the same time are a bit obscure as we never featured in a tournament in them.

I'd also not bother using the Daily Mail to 'prove' anything.

Wearing red again tomorrow. Do we keep losing the toss to wear our 1st strip or is it that we want to play in red

I know its a FIFA decision in the end

As we came second in the group, we're classed as the AWAY team and as such Germany wear their Home strip, which is predominately white hence we wear our alternate strip.

Was that Harry "Bagpuss" Redknapp, who wouldnt speak to MOTD after a game because Panorama said nasty things that they couldnt prove about him?

His moral stance appears to have vanished when asked to grab a freebee to SA and get paid for punditry!!!
