The only player I saw who actually 'wanted' to be on the pitch, who had the desire and passion to go out and win and who showed this passion and wanting.... was David Beckham!

The rest of the players were lacking this drive i'm very afraid to say.

People are berating Capello, but it's the players on the pitch who should be berated. Rooney complained to camera about the fans booing the team off, he couldn't understand why - well perhaps if he'd watched the team and his own lame performance then perhaps he might just understand. Did he give 100%, did he balls!

It summed it up this morning when I got in to work and a guy who doesn't follow football asked me why England were just stood around and not running for the ball unlike the Algerians!

As has already been said, over paid and under performing!

Just a thought that would add to the stress levels. If England draw 2.2 and USA draw 0.0 we end up drawing lots!

Not likely as where the hell will we get 2 goals from :(
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

Thought James, Carragher, Ashley Cole and Gaz Baz did pretty well last night but going forward we got under each other's feet and every shot was tame and along the ground. No idea why Joe Cole stopped on the bench and substitutions weren't made earlier.

I would like to congratulate the fan who managed to access the England Team at the end of the match in order to confront them in regard to their under mediocre performance last night. That poor fan is currently being searched for by the police but in relaity it is high time a genuine fan told the England team how pathetic their performance is. The causes of our poor performance in every world cup is obvious.
1) We have a team of pampered individuals who are overpaid
2) There is a lack of passion on the part of the players
3) There is no accountability when their is a mistake.
4) The team lack the ability to defend and attack--just examine the performance last Saturday and last night.
5) There is too much hype prior to the commencement of the World Cup.
6) As a nation we over exaggerate the ability of The Team.
7) The Team is not disciplined and spends too much time living a life of luxury.

We need to see a change in strategy and approach. We need to look closer to home when selecting our team and in doing so it is essential we select players who have a genuine passion for the game not becasue it is a job.

Once again well done to the fan who managed to confront the team--he deserves a medal for bravery and not to be arrested by the police. Our team do not deserve protection!

The reason England are crap

1) Too many imports in the Prem
2) Too many non British coaches in the prem
3) Ball to light
4) Ball to round
5) Floodlights to bright (latest one explaing Shriek's bad game)
6) Non British coach
7) The only reason they think we are good is the xenophobic press telling them they are world beaters

Rooney is a passenger, isn't fit, hasn't scored in a month of Sunday's for England and needs dropping.

Lampard hasn't turned up in an England shirt for as long as I can remember.

Defoe and Crouch play together at Spurs. Start with them two up front.

Rooney as just had his best season for Man United, the reason being he as been playing lone striker and as been instructed to stay up there and not drift back into midfield exactly the opposite to what he does for England

now if Mr Capello wants to get the best out of the one player who potentially could get us to the final, he should take a few tips from Sir Alex Ferguson and adopt the Man United attack formation with wingers playing along side him

The same could be said for Lennon - at Spurs he attacks down the wing, stays on the wing and rarely comes inside where as when playing for England he gets the ball and goes inside most of the time, the times he hasn't he's gone down the wing and put in decent crosses.

Good game so far (Cameroon v Denmark)

She hasn't sung yet though.
I'm glad the last game is a 1500 KO (1700, where me and Doris are), cos keeping my eyes open until nearly midnight against Algeria was hard work.
I don't think Rooney or Heskey will start against Slovenia.
Pompey rejects Crouch and Defoe up-front.

When Morecambe lost 6-0 to the Daggers, some Shrimps fans still believed that we could turn it around.
WHY?

because Morecambe had players that had shown through the season never say die attitude.
The rest of the country that watched the Daggers game on sky slated the piss poor Morecambe side but we still believed because we knew what a good side we had

My point is suddenly England are a poor side despite having our best ever qualifying for the world cup.
We have players in our side that are world class FACT
so hands up if you still believe

Its hard having a go at the Aussies when we're doing quite badly.
8-)
Rooney, best player in England, unfit, no more thanks.
I agree with the Beckham thing, he's the only one who really wants to have a go.
Crouch and Defoe should probably start.

I can't help but think that, win on wednesday we'll get a bit of confidence back (and hopefully some happier players) and then we might have a chance of progressing... Do that and the fickle people who boo will be saying " oh, we're unbeaten so far in the world cup" and the like.

We had two poor performances, but still didn't lose - end of. I still believe that when they 'click', we'll have a strong team capable of featuring prominently in the latter stages. If we're going down the 'where should we be' - then it's where we end up (I'd have hoped for the quater-finals). You only deserve to be where you end up - league , cup, whatever. But too many people are too quick to pounce because it's easy to criticise when you're playing poorly, just as it's easy to be pleased when you're winning 3 or 4 nil.

Call me naive, but I think we will win on Wednesday. The players will want it, especially as for some of them it will be their last world cup/ international competition. The players don't want to go home and know they have to improve. I have faith in their ability to step up to the mark when the pressure really is on. I can quite honestly see it being a scrappy 1-0, but that's all we need and we'll get where we want to. We'll see...

I wonder how those 'clear the air' talks went on or if they went on at all.

Quite refreshing to see the honesty in Terry's press conference, (thats a first for him).
Theres no doubt we'll give it a go on wednesday, just whether we can break down slovenia's back four when they play for the draw.
