Good move for him nearer home and a two year deal wish him all the best.

He has been a brilliant signing for us our first signing in the football league was probably a bit of a gamble to sign for us at first but he has been brilliant for us always putting in 100% and leadin the team in the abscence of Jimbo.

I can't believe he is only 29 I thought he was a couple of years older deff can't blame him for taking a two year contract then.

Agree.

Think only players to get first team place is .

Roach
Hainning
Duffy
Mullin
Jevons

Good luck Dave at Crewe going down in league table.

Morecambe pushing for top3-4 again . :D

I think it's been well documented that we are looking to bring in another striker. If so, I casn't see Mullin holding down his place in the starting XI (as much as I like him and think he had a good end to the season).

But I think you're missing a few names there... Parrish, Wilson, Stanley, Drummond??? I think a few more than you've mentioned will be looking for a starting place come the start of the new season!

If it were me, I'd also be looking to get a more experienced right-wing in for Duffy to learn from. We'll just have to wait and see!

Why? He isn't going to learn much, if he was 16-17 maybe but he'l mature more playing. At the end of last season he was outstanding so lets let him carry that form on.
As for Dave, good luck at crewe I suspect they'll be scoring a fair few more from corners. very under-rated in his second season but his class came through in the end and left on the back of a very good season.
Get over it ;)

Absolutely gutted. Top man, always popped up with a few goals every season.

Last goal at the fortress, two very important goals vs Shrewsbury, the last gasp goal vs Crewe, and who can forget Preston?

We will miss you Dave!!

Am surprised that Dario has signed him as Crewe are known for their football.

However maybe Dario has decided that he needs a more orthodox rather than a footballing centre half to get out of league 2. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Evidently tried to contact Sammy to tell him of his reasons for leaving but the Boss was still on holiday.

In his radio interview I got the impression he really didn't want to leave.

Thinks our fans are unique. 'How many other fans would applaud their team after loosing 6-0....'

A memory that he will never forget.

now Artell & Henry have gone.

then looking at what we've got left with now in defence, id say we need to sign two more defenders

+ two strikers as we only have Mullin
+ one backup goalkeeper

Great memories of Dave in his time here. Post Preston match at the Tickel Trout , did'nt mention his goal of course  Hereford Away when we battered 'em 3.0 :D His goal at Wycombe, in the first game of the season, (Deja vous :o ) when we were being battered and D.A. stuck in a free kick for Dave to home in on. The image of him scoring and wearing those specs. and the memory of him scoring in that penalty shootout at Chester :D :D

Top bloke Dave, will miss you around the place ;)
