Opening Of The New Ground

Opening Of The New Ground

Postby Suzi Quatro » Tue Jun 01, 2010 9:25 pm

Do we have any plans set in stone in regard to the opening of The New Ground?
We need to invite a distinguished guest to open the new stadium because we are on the verge of a very historic event in Morecambe. Maybe the newly elected M.P for Morecambe and Lunesdale, David Morris could undertake the honour or perhaps a famous name in sport.
Morecambe will benefit by the new stadium but we still need the infrustructure to enable people to access the stadium form outside the area and I refer to the Link Road of course, it would make access easier in the long term.

If the official opening is v PNE, then Sir Tom would be the obvious choice.

It would be great to get a local band to play before the game - not sure if they are fans, but the Heartbreaks are getting a lot of airtime at the moment and are well worth a listen.

Perhaps the council could pull a favour and ask Noel Edmonds and Mr Blobby to come and open the stadium

The heartbreaks are mfc fans, the drummer in particular. Under one of the bands former names they even had a song about danny Carlton. However, they are playing at Kendal calling on the day the stadium is officially being opened.
