It'll take a hell of a lot to get a better signing all summer.

Robbie Blake & Neil Mellor would be on a Par :o

Fantastic news. It's good to see that, although there may be bigger clubs after him, he values this club and the supporters enough to want to stay.

It's a signing that'll be worth a good few points next season as he was last season.

Ultimate signing!!! Well worth more than ten points last season, if he keeps that form up we'll be in the top half again next season. Also we'll get a hefty amount if he ever wants to leave.
Get over it ;)

It leaves him where he was before - the reserve keeper.

well if he had wanted to continue as reserve keeper he could have. He chose not to.

I think it gives the club an opportunity to use Scott's wages for another area of the team like up front.

With Barry established we could have the Youth team keeper on the bench in matches for experience.

If Barry is injured again like last season a loan keeper can easily be drafted in.

we will need to sign another keeper anyway for the reserve team although we may just give 1 of the youth team players a pro contract

We could of course give the role to Lee Jones who is already our goal keeper coach and has been at Jimbo's side during his tenure as end of season Res Manager.

Not sure what the terms of his insurance pay out may have been but to give him the jersey may be possible.

Probably a sensible move to let Scott go. When Barry was injured this season and we chose to bring a loan keeper in instead of playing Scott, you had to wonder what Scott's role actually was.

I'm all for saving wages by getting loanees in when needed and just having one proper goalkeeper. If necessary just for one game, I'm sure Steve Mcllarghey is still registered to play?

I'd be surprised if it was. Just as Wayne had no choice. But as a club we have to move on and in Scott's case, I think it's been done for the very best of reasons. No point in being on the bench at his stage of his career when he should be out there playing.
