class! does this leave manny panther and phil jevons the only players to tie down now, then build our squad with 4 or 5 good signings. :D

It leaves him where he was before - the reserve keeper.

Excellent news , well done Barry.

Great news! Good article on the official site where Barry states that the support from the fans and the clubs ambition played a part in him signing on for a another 2 seasons. The best and most consistent keeper at this level, could easily be playing in the league above.

I was beginning to think this wasn't going to happen, the longer it went on, the more worried I was! This is excellent news! especially having had all the sad photos to view all day, now we're looking forward again! :D :D :D

It'll take a hell of a lot to get a better signing all summer. That's 10 points in the bag already.

Top man Barry!

Last Thursday, Barry indicated to me that he was going to sign, but obviously it was in confidence and that was respected.

Now that it's officially done and dusted, from a footballing point of view, it's great news, and proves that good players are now taking us seriously as real challengers in the division. Barry's been our best player for the two years he's been here and surely Chesterfield fans are kicking themselves.

On a personal level, Barry's a great guy to know and I'm really happy he's signed again.

This must be considered as a bonus. I thought Barry was destined for bigger things and didn't think we stood a chance of keeping him. This is brilliant :D
