O/T GB's bit at The Olympics closing do

Sorry but that was 8 minutes of absolute CRAP costing £2,500,000!

I didn't expect us to even come close to what the Chinese did nor do I want us to even attempt it at the London opening, but that was, for me, a complete waste of money.

I'd welcome the thoughts of our expert on such matters, non other than our performing artist Aspers.

No doubt I'll get slated...again!

By accident, and between pubs I stumbled on a 2012 'thingy' in Fareham today.
I hung around and quite enjoyed what I saw. It was all quite refreshing.
It would be good (hate that word) if now were the time for our beloved county to sort itself out.
It'll be no good building-up, and subsequently hosting a successful 2012 Olympics if the county continues to become one big shit-hole.

Well it was a bit understated, but I'm perfectly happy with that - we shouldn't try and emulate Beijing's specacular ceremonies. I liked the use of the lollypop lady :P

I agree. I think we should buck the trend in 2012 - a minamilist approach. We could have floats on trucks , a Sally Ann band yer typical English fair procession. A fella [or woman] at the front throwing a 'baton' high up in the air and of course morris dancers , stilt walkers ... forget all the firework nonsense. ;)

I thought the Chinese were far too predictable and boring.

We were innovative and unique if a little quirky.
Jimmy Page was BRILLIANT Beckham looked comfortable in his magnificence.
The dance was stylishly choreographed the bus thing cool.
All in all a much better hand over than the one I was involved with in Atlanta (Boys getting shagged by kangaroos on bmx bikes).

No one can compete with China when it comes to organisation, I mean do it or get shot. The money they threw at the ceremonies was obscene.

CC I feel you were a little harsh but the beauty of art is thats its up to the individual.

Well somebody has to do these important jobs.

Just imagine what would happen if he didn't get one! He would have to fetch it himself and remember what happened the last time. We'd be back in the Conference (or whatever it's called this week) before you could turn round, and that would mean no segregation, and that would mean CC would have access again to the North Stand at half time!! The end of the world as we know it!! I should get a medal. :D :D

Well, he'll tear it when he tries to put it on
“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?
