Wow, those pictures are hard to take.

Wish I could have been in the UK to have attended the final few games.

I suppose I look on it like moving out of your long-time family home. Yes, you've had great, life-defining times there (and they'll be with you forever) - but you're moving for a reason and now you can look forward to your super new house where you'll have more and, you hope, even better times.

I'm not sad at all.

You're not alone in that. Christie Park was a special place but it was tired, aging and on life support. Better to let it go whilst it still had some dignity rather than being glad to be rid of it in 5 or 6 years when the place was dropping to bits.

I think most of us are excited about the move. I don't think it's so much the end of Christie Park that is making people sad, it's more the sudden and brutal deconstruction of the ground before our very eyes. The ground was a tired "non-league" stadium and the move is right for many reasons. It still isn't pleasant though to watch it pulled apart.

Just been down there myself and saw the North Stand Roof being ripped off like a sardine tin.
Me and Carlisle Paul stood in disbelief watching over the Car Wash wall torturing ourselves.
I've taken loads of pics & will see if my lad can load them on to SV later.
..... Can I bear to go back this aft?

To all those who want 4 sides of the ground covered - now's your time to complain about the stand not having a roof ! :(

Were you dressed like this by any chance?

It was bad enough just driving past it this morning. If I wasn't in a taxi I'd have gone the long way.

From ground-watch:

The north stand hit the ground at 9.45am. The huge piece of equipment just sliced
through the corrugated metal as if it was paper. The supports were the next to be
sliced and now the man and machine is starting to break up the roof as it is still
at an angle. It did not come down flat as a pancake.

Wow, I'm amazed at the speed of it all!

As sad as it is, keep the photos coming, it's amazing to see.
