Any news on a testimonial for Wayne Curtis? Surely Wayne should be getting the testimonial at the Globe that he deserves?

a few posts over the last year or so regarding a testimonial match for wayne curtis. apathy seems to rule on this subject, what deems a testy, wickes diy never gave me one after dispensing of my services after 18 years with 2 weeks notice, some people think players desrve them, some do not, on balance, if you have them , wayne does deserve one big time, sometimes, the commercial dept make comments on this board, so with respect, could they tell us when wayne curtis will get a testimonial game :?:

I am fully expecting silence on this , my father in law gerry irving. former player, coach when we won the fa trophy in 1974 at wembley, and brief caretaker manager has to pay in at christie park, but is treat with much more respect when he occasionally pops up to watch queen of the south

its not quite as simple as that Sam but would love to see a game though
certainly off the field it is the case as weve raised monies for players before
i cant see a game being arranged now though
sadly its something that should have happened after wembley me thinks imho
a great servant to the club and the best £250 spent on a player
im really surprised though i thought wayne would have been here for at least another year just so he could have got the 4 goals he needed for the 100....
Remarkable considering he was out of action for about 15 months with a bad toe injury around 2000/2001 and before that too with another injury

I'm afraid that if we do not have a testemonial game after a full year of other events being orgainised, it will be to the eternal shame of the club which is sad when you consider what a brilliant reputation we have on and off the pitch and what a legend Wayne has been.

we should not allow this man to walk away without the ultimate accolade from the club, after all how many more MFC players in the future will reach 10 years, not many. surely there has to be a solution or it will appear that we have let him down.

Seems like its up to the club to arrange something so lets keep posting in the hope someone will maybe take notice and do the right thing by wayne . Come on Board show why we are a true Family club and give the fans a chance to say a proper goodbye to a loyal servant and family member

Wayne spoke to me a number of times about the lack of interest from the club regarding organising a testimonial game.

Basically it was up to Wayne to organise the whole thing. In hindsight we, the fans, should have organised a committee for him. And I now wish I'd offered some help!

I know he was miffed about the attitude of the club and one particular official (not a Board member) who was totally disinterested.

Please give Wayne what he truely deserves. I was there on his debut when he came on in the Spalding cup and scored to make it 2 2 agg Woking away . The Shrimps went on to win the cup on pens(Thats when m mick turned up dressed as a monk thinking it was fancy dress) . That was the start ,Wayne always gave 110% for this club they wouldnt of got in the league without him, those 2 goals v York. He scored not so long ago 1 brilliant solo effort against Lincoln, better than Maradonnas goal in the 1986 world cup v England. PLEASE PLEASE give Our Wayne a Testimonial we will attend :D :D :D :D :D
