You understand wrong. Quite simply it was not built to be moved.

So why have the club been trying to flog it to Accy as has been reported?

I thought you said it was going to a rugby club? The club HAVE been trying to sell it, I haven't said otherwise.

The stand was not built to be moved. The risk of pieces being damaged during demolition, transit and rebuild was too high for anyone to accept.

Which is were the high cost of insurance made it a 'no go'.

Both the rugby club and Accy found the cost to be too high.

Accy have now purchased the uncovered seating at Blackpool that was only a temporary measure at Bloomfield Road, much to the annoyance of a lot of Accy fans who still want / wanted the North Stand.

Did it? You actually know that?

1st of 3 nights away and I'm in this mood already ;) Time to settle down, phone home and watch Poirot unless I get updates from parents on ground-watch.

Not around for long, just taking an interest in the last days of my childhood playground and where better to read about CP's last days. It's also hard to stay away when dad's on ground-watch although he doesn't bother hiding behind bushes.

Born here (the house, not the tin sheds). The back garden went beyond the turnstiles in the old wall, as did many gardens on Christie Ave. From age 2, I was lifted over the fence beyond the turnstiles to watch the match (OK, play on the cinders). I must owe them a fortune

Was down at christie on saturday and spoke to the guys from Accy who were removing the sprinkler system.Asked them about the north stand and if it was true they were taking it.They said they would have liked it but it was too big for the crown ground.

Why haven't they closed the main car park yet? Considering they've dug a hole in it and have been removing portacabins the past couple of days I would have expected it to be closed and fenced off.

Not complaining, as I used it to get photos last night, just surprised me a little.

An offer to the club...

If you decide to put it on E-bay I'll bang a bid in, just keep the postage cost's low please, Bradford park ave could do with another stand, Or if you want I'll collect, but can I do it over 10 years.
