Fantastic performance from him last night. There was a moment when he went on a run in the second half and bulldozered himself through the opposition defence just like the old days. But is this the last time we will see him in a Morecambe shirt (excluding a testamonial)?

I would of liked to off seen a bit more of him this season. It's one of those well know football secrets that he will go to Barrow at some point and I think this summer will be the time. I could see Barrow sneaking a play-off place next year.

Will he be having a testimonial at the Globe? (v Barrow I'd guess) could be a good warm-up game as part of the ground getting its safety certificate.

I don't think for one minute Wayne will be leaving.
It annoys me at times when I hear him get stick eg 'slow'.
But one thing that nobody can disagree with is that when wayne has the ball at his feet and he's got the goal in sight, he'll hit the target. I know everybody says jimbo is 'Mr Morecambe' but Wayne is entitled to that title more than anyone.

Wayne definately deserves another season. For me he is a better player than Mullin, who although has put in some good shifts for us this season is starting to look seriously padestrian...

Talk around Barrow is he is undecided whether to take a new contract (1 year) or return to Barrow (a local hero) to guarantee first team football.

A great servant over the years, I wish him luck in whatever he decides is best for him.

There's nothing guaranteed in football.

Personally I hope he accepts the 1 year extension. After all it's surprising how many players seem to have a superb 'final' season with their present club in such circumstances.

Yup released today. Marky told me this afternoon. Didn't believe a word obviously but had it confirmed later.

I remember the day he joined from Holker Old Boys. The goals he scored against York City to get us to Wembley mean he'll never be forgotten. But the one he scored at York with his meat and two veg make him a legend in my book.

The season he bagged nearly 20 goals with great service from Thommo, Elam, Celi and Drummy was his finest but the Crewe game showed in just a couple of minutes what a good footballer he is. Will hopefully do well at Barrow.

Waynaldo. At least I gave you a decent song instead of the other one you hated.

From his debut goal at Woking in the Spalding cup, to scoring with his nether regions at York. Dare i mension the 1st player to miss a pen at the new Wembley. Wayne Curtis has given many years of brilliant service to Morecambe, though I do think the time is right for him to go round the bay to Barrow. I wish him the best of luck :)

Is it possible to be both pleased and sad at the same time?

Pleased for what he has given to our club over the years. From his very early days when I'd give him a lift home to Barrow after the training nights at Myerscough, to the chats we had during the pre match warm ups at CP.

Sad that it's finally come to an end of his days as a Shrimp after giving us all so many fond memories.

No doubt his home town club now beckons and it's fitting in many ways that 'the kid from across the Bay' should finally grace the turf at Holker Street.

Cheers Wayne for all the memories and good fortune for the future, both in and out of soccer.

Neil

It's a shame when you have to move on at such pace to, as Shrimper has often said, just stand still. Unfortunately it brings about decisions like this. We'll all be sad to see you go, Wayne, but you've been a great player for this club, and will join the next group of past players to do their lap round the new stadium as a true legend of Morecambe FC.

Good luck for the future!

A true legend of Morecambe FC always had time to chat to the fans. All the very best in whatever you do in the future Wayne. Gone but never forgotten.
