Sh!t Happens

Postby Arnside Red » Sun May 16, 2010 5:09 pm

today was a complete freak result, not one of the team turned up on a day when big performances were needed, a team who finishes 4th, does not suddenly become crap over night, yes there are a lot of areas where improvements are needed, the defence has been suspect all season, to old and slow but today AP, Gaz, Haining, Rochey, guys who always deliver just didnt, it was a complete disaster but shouldnt spoil the season, the team have achieved greatly, punched above thir wieght and changes are needed but the players dont deserve some of the criticisms they are getting tonight, it was a bizzare game

Losing one game 6-0 isn't great. But it's one game. We can take pride in our season. There's a few teams would swap places with us!

As I've said on another thread, letting the team party after last weeks win back-fired. It was a party too soon and looks like it adversely affected the whole team performance today. Also I don't think we were used to such a dry hard, bobbly pitch either. Our players didn't turn up today, couldn't connect and Sammy had limited options to change players or tactics. Pride can be rectified on Thursday night.

get real, today was abysmal yes, no one can argue with that but sometimes these results happen on football, you cant let this take the shine off what has been Morecambes most sucessful, in terms of league placing, season, I am sure the majority of the travelling support will see it that way, they will be pi55ed off I am sure, course they will, todays performance wasnt acceptable but rarely do such performances end up with todays result which was a freak imho

Embarrassed to be a Morecambe fan? What a tool you are. I didn't realise peoples egos were so delicate on here. The performance was shocking, but you go to far. I'm glad I'm a shrimp, forever loud, forever proud. The fans who made the long journey today did a great job of getting behind the team, and almost to a man stayed until the end.

Well said Stuart. That was totally shit today, but why would anyone be embarrassed? Get over yourself and be proud of the clubs efforts and hard work to get in this position. Go and support Preston if your too ashamed.

The only times I'm ever embarassed is by people like you posting this utter tosh. I don't care what the country thinks, I had the p!ss taken completely out of me at work, but I don't support (feel free to look up the definition of "support") Morecambe for plaudits or glory. I support them because I was born in a house behind the ground, because we are the best supporters, because I enjoyed the days at Marine, bomb scares at Cheltenham, cold nights seeing the first japanese players to score in the FA Cuo (Elmley, nice!), because I can have a drink and a chat with our players, because when we are all on the North stand we can laugh with and at oursleves. Maybe even because we will never win the premier league and our only chance of getting into europe is on a package holiday!
I support Morecambe because I do! If our team embarasses you I'm sure there are other clubs for you. Might I suggest Chelsea this season and whoever wins stuff nex?
Embarassed to be a Morecambe fan? Proud if we win, proud if we lose.

SPOT ON! Embarrassed that Morecambe finished fourth in the fourth division? Some folk would be suicidal if they were Bradford fans or 'followed' Grimsby.
