O/T - Wheelie Bin on the line

O/T - Wheelie Bin on the line

The weather down here is glorious.
Got up early and had a wander down to the Gosport Ferry to witness the exodus of many of the local Pompey fans.
Very colourful.
Loads of extra trains have been laid on to take them to Waterloo.
Quite a few were looking very miffed though.
Why? News was filtering through that some clown has deposited a wheelie-bin across the line at Liphook, and the bin is now embedded beneath a train, and blocking the line.
It could be another 4 hours before things are back to normal.
Apparently 50% of the extra trains have now been cancelled, and buses (lots needed!) laid on.
I'm glad my big game of the weekend isn't until tomorrow!

It was on the news this morning that all Eurostar services had been suspended so that might be why...

No, it was nothing to do with that. You mentioned about Pompey fans getting the train to Waterloo. Eurostar, I thought, went from Waterloo. They said the Eurostar had been suspended. So on that basis, I thought their delays would have been compounded by that, nothing to do with the wheelie bin thing.

Eurostar goes from St Pancras these days.
All 3 lanes on the M3 northbound on the M3 are currently closed as well.
I've just received a text from my mate who got a train from Fareham to Waterloo, which wasn't routed through Liphook.
He's happily supping his first pint amidst other Pompey fans in the Moon on The Mall Wetherspoons.
