Loved the programme and it will take pride of place in my collection but when in the club shop yesterday i could not fail to notice all the boxes full of unsold programmes, i was also informed that the special edition version had a print run of 1000, yet only approx 100 had been pre-ordered. Does anybody know the amount printed of the £8 version and how many we sold. I would hate for the club to be left with hunderds of unsold programmes, maybe they could sell them via e-bay or contact programme dealers and pass them on at cost price to the dealers. Anyway, as i said at the beginning, great programme and if you have not bought one, although costing £8, it is worth every penney.

Less of a programme, more of a book! Better than Wembley programmes and well worth getting even after the game.

my first thought was that they could probably shift a lot of them at half price at the home semi, but i'm not sure how the people who paid full price would feel about that...

I think there’s just a little panic setting in here. I appreciate the concerns and the kind words from everyone but Keith is right there is a book in there and a reference point re the missing bits of our conference history after the splendid Potted Shrimps Publication from Ken and Lawrence and much more besides and even if i say so myself it represents great value.
It’s a commemorative programme one which a lot of people can call in buy and take home with them. It’s not easy to carry on match days and I’m sure many will still order this copy but spread the good word by all means. This will be on sale for a very long time to come yet and no need to sell at below what is a very good price for the programme.
The limited edition gold foil signed commemorative editions will get snapped up once they arrive and have special dust covers designed as well

The playoff semi final second leg there will be the usual 68 page full colour programme priced £3 on sale.

Anyway, as i said at the beginning, great programme and if you have not bought one, although costing £8, it is worth every penney.

Thank you for your concern, however the plan has always been to offer this superb programme to the wider audience. We shall be utilising one or two of the auction websites to get the message out to anyone who has any sort of affinity to Morecambe or Lancashire Football in general.

Without going in to too much detail the majority of costs in a project like the one Sean O'Connor oversaw so fantastically is the design and putting together the elements within. Once past a certain number the print costs become very manageable. As Sean has said there is no rush with a programme of this type, it has no shelf life as such because there will only ever be one last league game at Christie Park and once word spreads about the quality and comprehensive content, everyone will be looking to get hold of one.

Latest update on the Chairman and Sammy's writing hand is don't be shaking hands with them anytime soon they have forearms like popeye.....

This is very true. For example at Exeter after the initial print run of 1,000 per game, the costs are just pennies really. It is only then that you start making a decent profit. The advertising pays for the print and other production costs, or that is the aim, and the cover price becomes profit plus any profit from the advertising (less print costs). I'm off to Exeter next week to discuss the issue and format for 2010-11. We never seem to have too much of a break. Then it's on with preparing articles for next season.

Just like to add, I picked up a 'Collectors Edition' programme yesterday, and it is absolutely fantastic. More a book than a matchday programme.

Also, if you collect badges at all, then get one of the last match badges before thay go!
