Globe Arena new pics

Postby Mike W. » Wed Apr 28, 2010 10:03 pm

:geek:

Globe Arena new photos are now on the web site, showing the mass of work going on continuing the fitting out of the Main Stand - all 3 floors - the pitch - adding a layer of sand on top of the first main layer of top soil - block wall work all round - the Community Block (which will include the security room we have been advised) and around both the end stands - road work continuing - plus all sorts of stuff all over the site - even shifting one of the 'umps near the entrance.

We understand the water will be connected quite soon allowing the pitch contractors to water their work.

See http://www.globearena.co.uk .

Thanks once again for the great pics :D

That sounds like a great idea having the control room in the community block

Does that mean that they'll be keeping an eye on us trouble makers in C Block thanks to CTV....

With regards to the pitch. is this the final layer of sand prior to it being seeded?

Our pitch is already better than Wembley's.

the Community Block (which will include the security room we have been advised)

Perhaps they should rename it the "Care in the Community" block.

Progressing nicely, thanks for the great pics.

My favourite picture of the build so far. Gives a great impression of the size of the main stand.

Your not suggesting that Quinny & Ockers will be commentating from just outside the sponsors lounge bar? :?

If you look at the first floor plan you will see what I assume is the Press Area alongside a disabled supporters area just in front of the Wright and Lord section

On the second floor there is a "P.A room" in-between the control room and sponsors box....is that not where they would be commentating? or would that be just for the tannoy announcements?

I think plans have changed a bit. All of those boxes are now, quite rightly, income generating sponsors boxes.
