L2 as it stands

L2 as it stands

Postby George Dawes » Sat Apr 24, 2010 5:05 pm

1 Notts County 43 55 86
2 Rochdale 44 36 82
3 Bournemouth 44 14 80
4 Rotherham 44 6 72
5 Aldershot 44 12 69
6 Bury 44 -2 68
7 Port Vale 44 15 67
8 Morecambe 44 7 67
9 Chesterfield 44 0 67
10 Northampton 44 11 66
11 Dag & Red 44 8 66
12 Shrewsbury 44 2 62

i think 4 points could do it, with a point away next week and am fairly confident we can get 3 points at home the week after with a large turn out etc

but ive just done that BBC predictor and its saying we could miss out on goal difference :|

Glad that at least its in our own hands. Win both and we're definitely in there. (Barring Chesterfield scoring 8 more than us over the two games.)

It's not though is it we need Port Vale to drop points.
But saying that last 2 games they have got Bournemouth and Shrewsbury.

If we win both we'll overtake Aldershot

Shrewsbury will not be easy, so it's a case of being realistic now and not getting to carried away and getting your hopes up because our away from is not exactly clever :|

My Son and I have just watched the FL Show and at the end went through all the different scenarios, looking at all the fixtures with the teams in the hunting pack.

At the end (where we decided that it is a Morecambe v Port Vale Wembley Final :P ) he turned round to me and said " Its more exciting than the Premiership isnt it Dad?."

I couldnt agree more.

Play off's or 10th, no matter what happens over the next 2 week, It has been a fitting send off to the great old ground. Who in all honesty even dreamed of us being in this position last November when we were 20th with 15 points from 15 games?

The North stand was great with all the noise yesterday I'm sure that must have meant a bit to the players, and kept them going to the end.

So let’s get as many down to Shrews as we can and give them all the support we can, then onwards to the Shots game, and show the World that Morecambe love's football and how we Shrimps enjoy a PAAAAAARRRRRRTTTTTTTTTYYYYYYYYYYY

aslong as we avoid defeat against Shrewsbury it will be all guns blazing against the shots as 4 points may be enough but by then we could be relying on other results

Just done the predictor (again) and to be honest, nothing has changed as far as we are concerned. I still have us down to miss out by a point and finish 9th, whilst 2 wins would see us finish 5th.

But if we win both then Aldershot won't be able to get more points than us.

Just changed it, though looking at it again I think just the two wins would do anyway.

Also, looking at the other end of the table and taking a breather from our play-off hopes, IF Accrington somehow find some form and beat Barnet in the week then the bees could be in trouble. They'd be only 4 points above Grimsby and have to go to Cleethorpes on Saturday. Fingers crossed from them.

Now what if

we beat shrewsbury

and Port Vaie lose to Bournemouth(possible)

and Accy beat Chesterfield( very possible)

and the Daggers fail to win( Hereford on fire at the moment)

would mean we could play a bore draw with Aldershot and both of us get in

My head hurts after reading that. I'm going to need a sliderule at the last game if any of that scenario comes to pass

Still have Northampton to think about ;)

Seriously, I'd rather (and I fully expect) that no matter Saturday's results, the team absolutely go for it and produce for the fans and absolute belter. If anyone doesn't give 100% on Christie Park's last game they don't deserve to wear the shirt and frankly, don't deserve to be a professional footballer.

Just done it too, with us winning at Shrewsbury. I left our final fixture out of it. With the rest of my predictions in place, a draw for us would result in Aldershot & ourselves missing out to Port Vale on goal difference. A victory would have us fifth and Port Vale & Aldershot miss out. A defeat for us, Aldershot go fifth and we end up tenth.

It could be one of those games where news will be filtering around the ground as to how other teams are doing and be of interest to both sets of supporters!

What a difference a goal could make!

I did it with us drawing 1-1 at Shrews - and then again with us winning 1-2.

Then beating Aldershot.

Eleventh place - or fifth!
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!
