great news!!! sooner the better we get our current regulars signed up on contracts so SM can get to work straight away when the seasons finished and sign players to team build before pre-season starts unlike last time

Good on yer craig :!:

Loan players and one year deals are normal at this level, I think that stanners will view this as a sensible option.

as will the club :!:

On the contrary, he's one player who almost certainly wouldn't be able to cut it at a higher level and if we go for it next season, then this is a sensible move.

I'm glad he is staying for at least another season. When he plays well he provides some much-needed drive and oomph in midfield.

Agree that he might not be good enough for L1. But good news he'll be still here for our first season at the Globe Arena.

It's very difficult to assess. There are some players who look very good at one level but then just can't hack it at a higher one and look out of their depth - Darryl Clare is one that springs to mind, there are lots more.

Then there are others who are very solid at one level, nothing amazing, BUT can carry that consistency up a level. I actually think Stanners might be one of those.

Having said that, one year deals will be the norm for most of our players at the moment as we move into a new era.

great news, stanners adds that little bit extra in midfield and has certainly shown that he is more than capable of playing in league two!!

No one can deny how during many games he drives the team on with his fantastic work rate in the heart of midfield, and his consistency looks to have really come on this season.
