Hmmmm. Nothing against him but with his injury record, plus the fact he's another player who is likely to be nothing more than a bench warmer next season, he's one I would have let go to free up resources for younger legs.

Good deal, probably cheap wages, good back up winger and can also play first team football

Fair play to him. A useful squad player. Met him recently and he said that he is really keen to play next season at the new ground and was prepared to take a cut in his wages. Bit of loyalty is worth rewarding in my opinion.

...also I understand that he's moved into the area. His wife has got a good job and the kids are settled into a new school.

Why put all that at risk for a few extra bucks?

The real question is, I suppose, which of the players we've got on contract next season will be able to make the step up into League One when we get promoted!?

that's a cracker of a question that one :P

hhhmmmmmm now it depends who you mean on contract, as a lot are up in the summer with a lot of our players? the only players who we have now playing capable of the step into L1

Unlike Marky I'm not going to be churlish. I'm delighted Neil's got a contract primarily because he's a superb person to have around the club but also a lot better player than many give him credit for.

Well done to the club on extending wainers contract...loyalty is very lacking in football just ask the clown mcdonald at championship side burnley
