Totally agree, fantastic servant to the club for many years. Have a great retirement on the road!

I hope he comes out on the pitch at half time on Friday and takes the appreciation of every fan that he fully deserves.

His record in the Lancashire Combination is unsurpassed in modern times with umpteen league and cup triumphs. Without doubt his amazing feat in winning the Reserves League and Cup double in our first league season and getting us to the national cup final, the first ever promoted side and the first league 2 side was an incredible achievement.

While Jim Harvey can claim a lot of credit, there are a lot of players plying their trade who owe a debt of gratitude to Jeff and his team - Danny Carlton, Garry Thompson, Garry Hunter, David Perkins, Stewart Drummond, Lee Dodgson, Jonathan Smith, Nick Rogan, Kieran Walmsley, Adriano Rigoglioso, Michael Stringfellow, etc. etc. etc. and then chuck in another 50 or more playing up and down the country. Remarkable.

Deserves recognition for everything his done.

Legend

I think and have thought for a long time the job he does is fantastic. As a reserve manager he probably gets very little say in team seletion due to 1st teamers needing a run out, trialists etc so he turns up sees what players he has that week and still manages to get consistant results.

Also the reserves have been brilliant to watch at times playing some really nice football many times I have found the reserve games more entertaining than what I had seen from the 1st team the previous saturday which is all credit to Jeff for getting them to play that way.

For me when we got promoted one of the best things was that our reserves would finally get the chance to test themselves week in week out and they then did the league and cup double.

Thanks for everything Jeff and all the best for the future.

Thanks Geoff for everything you have done for our club.

The word Legend applies to only a few. You are one of the few.

Whenever I spoken to you, you have always been a gent and true professional.

May your retirement be as memorable to yourself as your management of 'our other first team' has been to us.

Thanks once again.

I can only echo what everyone has said. In my humble opinion you have been as important to this club as Eric Harrison was at Manchester United. You are a real legend and I agree with Michael that we should get an opportunity to show you our heart felt appreciation on Friday. Many Thanks and Good Luck.

Oi Jeff,
If your travels bring you near this colony I inhabit, pop into Fox sudios, ask for Brent Street I would be honoured to buy you a schooner (just under a pint) and show you around.
I promise I won't give you a lift in my pink car a la DeeBee
