What a game that was!

What a game that was!

Another fantastic exibition of how to manage and coach a team. Starting with the warm-up including the manager then onto the game, Morecambe go one down but Jimbo is on the touchline encouraging, advising, coaching, cajoling and getting behind his youngsters. Second half and Morecambe get on top with a fine display from Garry Hunter directing operations and showing his class. Jimbo doesn't shout and wave his arms, which is counter productive anyway, but simply continues to coach and Morecambe deservedly grab two goals to seal another win. At the end of the game the Blackpool players troup off but Jimbo shakes the hand of everyone of his unused substitutes and gathers his team around him in the centre circle where he corrects errors and praises the positives. Those kids came off the pitch with heads held high feeling like a million dollars. The odds are against many of these lads making the grade but at whatever level they play their football they will be better players for having had Jim Bentley in their corner. Great management & PR skills that few people possess. Well done Jimbo.

It's been said many times on SVs that Jimbo is destined for a career in management. I'd like to think that that is with us someday. It could be that Sammy is already preparing the way for that to happen by giving Jimbo experience with the reserves.

Well done Jimbo.
