i think big daft Frank Bruno helped him become a well liked house old name back in the day with his infamous saying "you know what i mean harry"

To be honest dawzi, he was an extremely well known commentator way before Big Frank came along. Ali was pretty complimentary about him too.
But that's really just nit picking, you're absolutely right he was a legend and we are slowly losing these characters from sport without seeing replacemets of anything like an equal talent.
