Problem is many clubs dont like taking chances of lower league footballing talent but they are some right gems out there.
Take Swindon Town there got a center forward from lower league and his first 10 games he got 9 goals think.
Oh well we got Aaron Taylor bring us goals next season Aaron.

Not good news when a local boy goes to a rival club in the same league, especially when it was confirmed that we had been talking to the City manager.

Did we offer him as trial?

I dont think we should be too hard on the management.

I understand that Lancaster did all they could to stop him coming to the Globe Arena.

If that's the case then lets not play them in a pre season friendly.

Can't say that I'm surprised, after all the City Chairman Mike Hoyle doesn't exactly like MFC. Jealous of what we've achieved.....!!!

The deal is for a fee of around £30K + appearances and a 20% sell on clause.

Interview with Connerton and Mick Hoyle here:

Ooops manners where well I.

I had a gut felling when Jordan was linked to League2 teams after his trail in Scotland broke down that a transfer to Crewe fc could be a fantastic move.

Why get worked up about missing out on an unproven amateur player?

To be fair only around four people were.

If Sammy & Mark had really wanted him, they would have pulled out all the stops.

Good luck to the lad but as you said unproven. Arron Taylor would probably look a superstar at Lancaster.

Don't be hard on yourself. Noone and Baker haven't done too badly once they left their amateur setup.

Taylor is rubbish. I would much rather have Connerton cos he's quick, has a really good shot on him, good at headers and even though he is small he is quite strong and Taylor has none of these qualities. We released O'Carroll last season but it should of been Taylor by miles.

I wouldn't give Mick Hoyle the spare buttons from my shirt. Especially for a player I've been told has said he would never sign for Morecambe anyway.

In the friendly against Lancaster we played Taylor and he wasn't able to do anything decent at even that level.
