Wayne's Sponsored Walk

Wayne's Sponsored Walk

Postby Mark S » Sun Mar 14, 2010 1:10 pm

Thought I would put a few piccys up. My family only managed to join half way through to much mickey taking but everyone who turned out were having a superb time.

Players spotted and walking and talking with fans were Wayne, Jimbo, Stanners, Drummy Wainers & Gaz Hunter (apologies if I have missed anyone).

Well done to everyone taking part!

A good turnout and a very enjoyable morning on a 2 hour round trip that blew a few cobwebs away. We stopped at Eric on the way back for a group photo and at the Carleton for a well deserved coffee. Very nice of Wayne to donate and raffle off a couple of signed shirts ~ well done mate ;)

Presume it got to more than 3.0 Mick? When I mentioned Morecambe were winning 3.0 you should have seen the look of shock on Wayne and Jim's faces!

It finished 4 -0 you know who played striker :o
(He only needs to play right back and keeper to have the full house this season :!: ) He got one with his right :D
A really good game of football played in a friendly atmosphere.

You should have brought them down too Mark. That would have shocked all the lads, and some of the parents too

Same was going to do this but my step-daughter had to spend day out at the last minute with mum as apart of mothers day , so i went gym to train for the South Shield's half marathon.
But looked on photos on mfc site look all good.

My step-daughter is unhappy because the players were giving out autograph's and signing morecambe tops.

Good to see so many turned out. Would have been there myself but a family do had to come first.

Marky No1, I'll give you the sponsorship money I spoke of yesterday at the next home match plus another donation from my family.

A really good day walking down the prom with members of the Morecambe FC family, all there to support one of the finest men to ever serve this football club. I hope we can have a few more events for Wayne before the year is out. Thanks to everyone who organised it and to Wayne and the lads, especially his older twin Jim.

Team photo is a great one:

I will quite happily relieve you from your wedge kind Sir. In sequence you can usually find me in the York at 2, in the car park at 2.30, in the bar at 2.45, in the main stand at 3 etc etc etc! Not that I'm a creature of habit tha knows

It takes you 15 minutes to walk from the car park to the bar? :o

You will be bringing a tartan blanket for your legs next for when you shuffle up to your seat.
