From the visitor website

Tickets will go on sale from the club ticket office for the Saturday, May 8 game against Aldershot (kick-off 3pm) this Saturday (March 13) to season ticket holders only, when they can purchase two additional match tickets if they wish.

right this is more than likely my poor understanding of the english language ( ) but doesn't this kinda imply we (season ticket holders) have to buy a ticket? I presume this isn't the case it's just if we want extras right? :?

Clarification.

IF you have a season ticket and you want to buy two more tickets for friends or family, you're getting first shout. Take your season ticket book as proof and you can buy two more tickets.
The club will tear out one of the miscellaneous vouchers from the back of the season ticket book (with your ID number on it) so they can keep a record of which season ticket holders have already had their 'extras' (to avoid season ticket holders getting more than their allocated two extras).

You will only pay for the two extras.

If you're a season ticket holder and you don't want any extras, you just turn up on the day of the match with your season ticket as normal.

To be fair, if you know what the club has organised then what was on the official site (now amended slightly for clarity) was perfectly sensibly worded. But looking at it from the outside there were a couple of phrases that could have had slightly different interpretations.

That makes at least 2 of us who have queried the wording. Interestingly it's now been amended to stop idiots like me and you from questioning the original message.

The original wording wasn't as clear as it could have been and although deep down I think we all knew what was meant there's that nagging fear that, come the big day, we'll miss out.

Better to be the "idiot" now and question rather than have the nagging thought that you could be one on May 8th.

Hopefully there'll be some left for general sale. Going to attract a lot of tourists this one.

You are on the wind-up aren't you? Why should the tickets be cheaper for season ticket holders?

Okay, I'll bite, on the basis that this comment genuinely sounds angry and negative towards the club rather than an imitation confused Millwall fan...

You regularly go to games with your wife and son.
Assuming they are not already season ticket holders, you will need to buy two tickets for the last game.
As a season ticket holder, you can buy the two tickets for your family before anyone else.
Note, you don't need to buy three tickets because you've already got yours.
The tickets that you buy for your wife and son 'on the day' would not be subsidised because you are a season ticket holder, so why should they be if they go on sale early?

Family club that cares about it's supporters, offers tickets to season ticket holders first so they don't need their wife and kid to queue up on Monday with the hoy-polloi? Sounds good to me!

D'oh, oh Mick, you wind-up you! :?    8-)

Even if season ticket holdser could buy 10 extra tickets each, i still dont think that would get it up to a 6000 sell out, as i doubt we have 500+ season ticket holders, do we ?

sounds farsical to me

Postby Arnside Red » Fri Mar 12, 2010 4:11 pm

season ticket holders already have their ticket so why they should get preferential treatment is a bit daft (fair enough for cup games, no arguement there), i doubt it will sell out quickly but the majority of us who go to most games and dont have a season ticket cant then buy on saturday when we are at the ground, either have to make a special trip or wait til next game

The way I read the announcement is there will be no 'next game' - a special opening on saturday for season ticket holders and then normal office hours - 9.00 - 5.00, Monday to Friday. Therefore like you say the many people who attend every, or most games, and are not season ticket holders, are going to have to take time off work to get their ticket, or take the risk that it won't be sold out on the day. :(
