Song(s) for Saturday

Song(s) for Saturday

Postby Posh » Wed Mar 10, 2010 2:02 pm

It is pretty evident that top of the list for signing up for next season is Barry Roche. So I think its our duty to 'persuade' him to stay. The only way I can think to do this is by quite literally singing his praises and highlighting what he needs to do.

At Bury a group of us sung 'Wonderwall' for no other reason that some pissed bloke at the back thought it might sound good and it did. When I was singing it I tagged on the end to make it:

Because Barry
You're gonna be the one who saves us
And after all
You're our Barry Roche

or

Because Barry
You're gonna be the one who saves us
Because Barry Roche
You're our wonderwall

OK, I know. A lot of the earlier lyrics are all up the spout but hey.

Alternatively here's a direct plea to the tune of Oh My Darling Clementine!

Sign your contract
Sign your contract
Sign your contract Barry Roche
You're a hero
Become a legend
Sign your contract Barry Roche

There's no pressure
There's no pressure
There's no pressure Barry Roche
Tomorrow's OK
Better today
Sign your contract Barry Roche

Sorry that song appeared in my sleep and needed writing down.

P.S. His birthday is 6 April. Time for a big card signed by f'ing loads of us and a cake with a contract made out of icing stuck on the top?

Sounds like an idea for a new American 1950's sitcom.

Love it!

I wish I'd had your dream, I dreamt that I was on the phone talking to a work colleague, looking out of the window when an Isle of Man plane (in British Airways livery) stalled and crashed in to a house! I even said to him, "oh f***, I think that plane's coming in! S***, I'll call you back" before running down the stairs to try and help... Oddly(?) I was in the back bedroom of the house that I grew up in, a house I've not been inside for about 25 years! Must stop having cheese on toast for supper!

So how did that work out then?
