O/T: The Pebble Man

O/T: The Pebble Man

I had a trip down to the promenade today and found a group of people peering over on to the beach behind the Midland.

On closer inspection I saw the following stunning sculptures taking shape.

"The Pebble Man" aka "Dr Geebers" or George is a homeless man walking the coastal paths around the country, stopping to share his talent at various beaches along the way.

I would highly recommend a closer look at his sculpture, which looks great even half-completed and George's commitment is inspiring.

For those interested an interview can be found at the following:

and a Facebook page with regular updates from the man himself as well:

I've just been down the prom talking to this guy, he said Morecambe is his 21st stop and so far he's walked 1700 miles :o He started in Brighton, I asked him where he was heading next and he just pointed North

He also said 19/21 places he's been have been respectful but 2 have been disrespectful, meaning his creations have been destroyed  and he said he's been lucky in that someone has given him a bed since he's been in town :P

Seems a nice chap and talented too. I told him I'd seen a link about him on here.

Superb!

Wonder if the guy does private commissions?

A Shrimp made out of local sea washed pebbles set into concrete in the pavement area in front of the main stand would be an excellent piece of public art and certainly create a talking point.

:?: :?: :?:

bit of a trip hazard, placing uneven area in front of the stadium...

can you tell I've been on a health & safety course?

I think it's an excellent idea by the way!
“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?
