The next number 7

So who should take over the number 7 shirt now Twiss has gone. Duffy perhaps?

No one from the current squad, they already have squad numbers, are registered and dont change

Whoever comes in during the summer.

Will take someone special to have the honour of Number 7.

I would say Wilson's nailed on for the number 3 shirt next season. Who gets the number 7 shirt depends on who we bring in but I wouldn't be surprised if it's Duffy.

Danny Adams had the No.25 shirt for 3 years, then took the number 3 shirt a few weeks ago ~ then look what happened :o

He was going to have to leave some day. It's just unfortunate that he left now. Wish he'd of stayed for a final match though so we can give a proper good bye.

Beckham could maybe manage 1 more season and he's just about worthy of wearing Twissy's No 7. ;)

Unfortunately true.....Ok if i were to give the 7 shirt to anyone it would be...

Lawrence Wilson......A Defender he is not...he should be running up the wing were he can do most damage.......

... but then he'd be number 11, surely.

Number 7 is usually right wing/midfield, so Duffy would make sense unless Sammy has other ideas for how his starting 11 might shape up next season.

Of coarse he's a defender , and where he is most effective as he can go forward and has the pace to track back . If you can remember when he went to left back , he started scoring goals coming out of defence .

Numbers 7 and 11 have always confused me.... Which is left wing and which is right?

At MFC, we've had Twiss being 7 (left sided) and Wainwright 11 (right sided) and previously Thommo wearing that shirt. But as Shrimper says, its often the other way around (Giggs @ Man U for example)...

Answer
01 - Goalkeeper
02 - Right back
03 - Left back
04 - Centre back
05 - Centre back ('Libero')
06 - Defensive midfielder
07 - Right winger
08 - Centre midfielder
09 - Centre forward
10 - Offensive midfielder (playmaker) / Second striker
11 - Left winger

This is the genral idea, not set in stone, but there you go

Certainly not in stone if you are AC Milan where they have a defender, Antonini No.77 and Ronadino is No. 80 :o

No. 121 seems to be the highest number used ~ by an Australian and a number "0" was used by an Aberdeen player , can you guess his name? There is a clue in the number
