From the other thread:

When I told my 9 year old Son who couldnt remember Morecambe FC without Michael Twiss, he just said one thing.

"Why?"

Out of the mouth of babes.

He has two pictures of himself and Twissy on his bedroom wall and one of Jimbo. He said "Jimbo wont leave will he Dad?" "I hope not son, but you never know in football" was my reply.

Micheal, one 9 year old boy worships you as a footballer more avidly than Stevie G or Wayne Rooney. You and your fellow team mates have inspired him to play football in the street (and Twissy scores!) and also play in a Morecambe Youth Under 10's team hoping one day to emulate you.

Something to be proud of as much as a Wembley winner's medal. :D

Thanks Mike and good luck!

All the best for the future Michael, I am sure you will be snapped up in no time.

I keep watching my dvd of the 2006/07 season and those 2 special goals at Cambridge United.

Other goals to live long in the memory are the 2 against Accrington the last time we beat them and the one against Bury in our first season in the league which nearly broke the net.

Hiya Twissy, good luck for the future! You have been a legend at Morecambe, ever since you signed all those years ago. We will never forget the season where you ripped the conference apart with 25+ goals, and all the excitement you brought to us whenever you touched the ball.

Really hope you can make the Aldershot game to share the experience with us all, where you can say bye to us properly. I think an appearance on the pitch before the game with 6000 Morecambe fans chanting your name would be perfect ;)

Ahh well, he never learned not to stand on the end of the team photo, too easy to airbrush out as someone once told him

From the Going Up banner at Wembley to that dash across the concrete and a perfect corner at Grimsby, plenty of memories.

Good luck and all the best.

We were really chuffed when you chose to join Morecambe from Chester, and you never disappointed. All the best Michael, I hope you find a club that will benefit from your talent. We are going to miss the anticipation of something special every time you came onto the field.

Many thanks Michael. As a footballer and as a man it has been a privilege to have known you. I hope we all get an opportunity to say goodbye on May 8th. It's not a coincidence that the song we sang about you and will continue to sing, isn't about your goals or skills (though they have been a pleasure to watch), the song is about your committment on the field, your committment to our club. We will never forget what you have done for us. Thank you, always.
