I can't believe that I'm doing this but... that article says that Ms Smith was pouring her drinks away rather than being in a competition. Sounds to me like her 'crime' was pouring away booze that the tax payer paid for rather than actually getting hammered.

Agree with The Daily Mail or defend Geraldine Smith? Talk about caught between a rock and a hard place!

So how did that work out then?

What exactly has the presence or not of an open chicken factory got to do with the government? If it was profitable to keep it open, it would be open. If it isn't, it deserves to shut.

It was making money and i was understanding that Geraldine Smith Mp it was the government decision weather to re-open the factory and i got told the locals in Westgate are very much against the plant being reopened.
I know Two Sister's got a huge percentage of the insurance's and are looking to reopen if they could get the old food suppliers contracts .
I know many people that lost work there and now cant find work due to the weak economy.

One of Geraldine's immediate jobs is to try and keep the Tip on the A6 at Carnforth open. It looks set to close to save money

The flytippers will have a field day :(
